"Happened upon 'Sabores do Campo ' near the bus station. Six months later, it was a factor in deciding to visit Beja again. If I have a criticism of vegetarian restaurants, it 's that they tend to be a bit too 'worthy ', featuring a lot of soya...and textured vegetable protein. Portugal produces so many different vegetables, but it 's rare to find any in standard restaurants, other than salad. This place had a great variety, however, and included cheesy bakes. We lunched there on two consecutive days and found varied 'specials '. The self-service buffet also offers desserts and juices, but was it far too 'healthy ' for wine? Clientele appeared to be local young people on their lunch breaks. Fill up your plate and pay by weight. I kept a receipt that shows two mixed plates (around 8 euros each), bottled water and a glorious pudding, totalling 20 euros for two. I 'm definitely going back to Beja, a charming town, with a great veggie cafe."

"Came across this by chance as we were walking around the old town Albuferia. Soup Vegetable and fish were both hot and tasty. My husband tried spaghetti carbonara without knowing what he was going to get and he said it was ok , was hoping for Parmesan grated at the table but it came out of a shaker. Now ,me, I had chefs special which was a chicken curry with rice and had a portion of vegetables which consisted of cauliflower green beans and carrots. All cooked well and tasty. Been to other restaurants and it just seems to be chips and salad. So a refreshing change to have well cooked tasty veg. So thank you to the restaurant for a lovely meal. Staff polite and friendly on arrival and whilst we were there. Oo and toilets were spotless ladies, spotlessly clean."

"Came here to Sunday dinner, only could find place was open. it was full, clear where they took the family for Sunday. it was great. had an excellent rice and seafood dish, with a certain distinguishable white victor and a local dessert. service was fast and friendly. I recommend it. not 5 stars on some wise, but a pleasant meal in very cozy places"

"We were in Beja and it was time for lunch when we came upon three restaurants and decided to come here because this one had a local vibe. Turned out to be a great choice. My wife ordered the chicken in beer sauce which she loved. I ordered the steak which was smothered in an incredible tasting sauce. Simply excellent."
