"This restaurant has an excellent reputation and it’s situated in an idyllic Normandy village. The period building is wonderful. We were anticipating great things. Things started badly. We’d booked a table for seven and arrived promptly, but we were told by a waitress to come back at half past seven because “they weren’t ready”. Needless to say, my husband wasn’t pleased and expressed his displeasure in no uncertain terms. We were admitted, had an aperitif and ordered. Our foie gras was very gamey but tasty and the filet de St Pierre was well cooked but very bland. The piece de resistance was the cheese, locally produced and utterly delicious, very well kept and quite perfect. My Mirabelle flambé was beautifully presented but strangely dull. This was an uneven meal good in parts, but unmemorable. Lots of sweet things materialised which I thought unnecessary pre desserts for example, were too sweet. Wine was excellent and service very efficient and attentive, but the meal just missed the mark. Pity."

"Let me just start off by saying this is an amazing restaurant. Always make sure to check the hours of a restaurant when dining in France and book ahead. We did both and the lunch was seamless. : Every course was perfectly cooked and they...included free extra things in between the courses. The staff was imbecibly nice. They opened doors, pulled out chairs and the head waiter spoke English perfectly so there wasn't any language barrier issues. All in all, go. It's fantastic and possibly one of the best meals of my life. A true dining experience."
