"We ordered the nanjing ente, the yangzhou meat balls and the pig in special sauce. the swarm was the undisputed winner. it is hard to beat a soft fork piece of meat that is braided in a delicious, slightly sweet sauce, which is supplemented by simple white rice. the other two dishes were solid, but had a hard act to follow. the duck did not look appetizing when it was so pale, but we enjoyed the natural aromas of the flesh. a soße would make it more interesting. the big meatballs came with bean thread noodles (tong hoon.) meatballs were a little mudy in texture for me, but that could be the way they should be? "Definitiw a hidden gem in the middle of the ubiquitous, ostentatious eatery landscape of burwood! located on the quieter side of burwood rd opposite the park, this family-run restaurant is the turnkey facade of the restaurants of the delicious authentic Japanese tariff it offers. this place is guided by a nice Japanese family, so they know that eating is in fact the actual thing. everything is self-service, so they have to write their order on the paper down, provided and take it to the counter as well as pour their own water and get their own flavor. this is actually a great idea; everything can be done in their own free time. the menu is extensive and everything is cheap, nothing is over $20! the portion sizes are also generous, so it is amazing value for money. all items on the menu taste fantastic, but my personal favorites are all dishes with chicken caraage or teriyaki salmon. service is always excellent and fast when we went to dinner yesterday our first next dish was on the table within 10 minutes order! I've been coming here for a few years with my family, and eating and service are never disappointed, it's one of my favorite foods to eat. highly recommended!"

"Pine Inn Hotel Bistro on the corner of parra rd/burwood rd was closed for renovations so came to this one at avondale hotel, located across hungry jacks/burwood station.<br>

Meal costed $11.80, price rise from the $10 meals years ago. Ordered the pork chop with diane sauce, take away. The presentation looks sloppy, but the taste was decent, and at a fair price. <br>

Very generous serving, got 3 pork chops, chips and salad. Struggled to finish the meal! One of the pork chops was thicker and not cooked all the way through with the meat closer to the bones still red. But mostly the pork chops were well done.<br>

Overall I would eat the meal again. The place is located upstairs past the bar/pokies machines. Would recommend going with others since there are some shady looking people around."
