"We have been travelling to the Chapala/Ajijic area of Mexico 8 times over the past 12 years. For the past 4 years this restaurant has been added to the must visit list...usually twice in the week we are there. We always have the chorizo burrito as it is our favourite! The family that owns the restaurant are great and offer wonderful service (speaking English too). It is a typical small run Mexican restaurant. You go for the people and food, not the high end furniture and upscale wine list. (I suggest the 2 for 1 margaritas) But that is the lure and charm of this area of Mexico!! Lunch for 4 with drinks was 450 pesos. We look forward to going back next year when we visit the area."

"We went for lunch after reading the reviews. And yes, it is tucked away and a bit hard to find but well worth it. The downstairs of the house has been converted into a very attractive restaurant with several seating areas. Its colorful, nicely decorated...and welcoming. The food is buffet style, cooked fresh daily. But don't think typical US buffet. They have about main entrees to choose from then add rice and beans to your plate. I had the chicken mole and it was fantastic. And corn tortillas are constantly being made fresh and brought to your table hot. In addition we had a drink they make there that was a combination of mint and pineapple. Excellent! Overall, for two people, it was less than and authentic Mexican."

"Sitting on the terraza of the beautiful old house built by the Braniff Airline family gives the feeling of having been there. The food was very good but the service was very slow. However, when the food came it was worth the wait."

"Sit inside or stand on the street, this open grill will quickly make for you one of types of tiny tacos on perfect corn tortillas. Cabeza, lingua, carne asada, pastor, lingua, chorizo--that's what we tried in just one night. Great service. Super friendly. The...Guy says all the snowbirds from US and Canada die for the pastor. Four different fresh salsas to add, plus onions cilantro lime and white beans. Planning to go daily. About pesos per taco cents currently). Only open from so don't delay or you'll be very sad. Can order and take-away as well. Not far from bus station, along main drag in town (other side of street from station)."

"The view here is just incredible with the mountains on one side , Lake on the other and city all about. It is located stories up off Libramiento. There is a really unique winding staircase leading up or even an Elevator. There is a...closed of section and also open air. There are colorful umbrellas to shade the sun. They are open for breakfast , lunch and dinner. We went for dinner. There was live entertainment. The menu is small but varied. They have a peso chicken, fish or meat special. They have snacks like wings, etc. Sodas, beer and now I hear they also have cocktails. The view is the outstanding feature along with good prices, good food and good service. Great for a group get together or snack and drink after movie etc. We really enjoyed it, and will be back. I definitely suggest you try it out. If possible try walking the staircase as it is windy and quite the adventure but if not go the elevator! I might add it is listed in Chapala but is actually in Ajijic, mountain side, right on carretera."

The ambiance is great, the food very good with exceptional daily soup specials service is great the only true garden setting in Chapala the warmth and care that goes into this...establishment is like no other, the owner Manu truly tries to make you feel at home.
