"On the second night in Klingenthal I didn't want to eat again at my hotel. So I followed a tip and drove the Ashberg up to this restaurant. The on-site parking spaces were snowy, but usable. Behind the outside door I first came to a hall where a sign pointed to the guest room. I went in and was greeted by an operation from another room through the door. As the only guest I had the free choice and sought a table from which I could at least partially enjoy the famous view of the valley. After some time – the operation was in the room with another person – I got the card and was asked if I had a drink request. I asked about something alcohol-free, and I immediately suggested various juices and scorls. But in the end, I ended up with the alcohol-free yeast white beer (0.5l for €2.50). The map offers a good selection of local specialities and also some wild dishes, as well as two or three experiments on fish. This has not come into question for me at all, which I prefer to eat at home and as fresh as possible from the cutter. More interesting for me were the wild dishes where I also found my choice. When the service served the beer after a reasonable time, I ordered “Jägerpfanne, three medallions from the stag spine with roasted mushrooms, baked lumps and vegetables” (14.50 €). The outer walls are also covered with profiled wood up to about half height. The furniture is partly quite simple, tables and chairs are quite shaved in places. Radio Vogtland (Radio Vogtland), including advertising, was continuously dubbed from the music system, and in much more than just background loudness. The mixed vegetables looked at their origins from the TK bag through the corrugation of the carrots, but it was well cooked and just still bite-resistant and was also bribed with fresh herbs, a rather positive example of the use of convenience. In addition, you have to benefit the cook that I was there in the low season, that evening I was the only guest, and how should he calculate the purchases of fresh vegetables? The service was quite burschikos, but always friendly and accommodating. Conclusion: A rustic tourist and excursion resort at the height of the Ashberg, and for this concept it fits well. Of course, you can't expect a star kitchen here, but floor-to-ceiling local dishes in an appropriate ambience. The restaurant naturally benefits from its location, because “the name is program” as a scribe called it."

"Ok here 's a very sweet day trip if youre in Saxony Germany. We departed from Zwickau railway station which shows that typical DDR type design, nonetheless the diesel train was modern and great. We headed out through the townships, nature reserves and farmland to Klingenthal which is the township for the highly recommended Zur Alten Schulz restuarant. Ok here 's something different for Australians.... you can drink on the train so to my surprise out comes the beers wine and schnaps and everybody is amazingly social and friendly. Its the moderation. Train is comfortable with great seating and big windows for sightseeing. The trip from Zwickau. Was 70+ minutes but very enjoyable. A small walk after disembarking and you see the towns cathedral and then the restuarant which is over 100 years old and is of typical timber alpine construction. Raw cuts on big timber but refined window carpentry. The food is rural ie... promoted wild pig is offered along with very tasty standard country menu. Its warm, its fun, its good food and the train ride is really a relax with more drinks. Seriously if you are looking for a day trip with friends and family and very congenial local travellers then I recommend it. The photos decorating the walls of the restuarant with class photos from the early period are very interesting. Obviously the restuarant is children friendly with colouring books etc provided when required, Cheers Robbee"

"We had a family meeting in this hotel, comfort rooms are quite attractive (if you look at the very ugly). the single room I was looking for was more of a cell than a room. very economical and tasteless. the menu offers a quite large selection, the foods are delicious, the breakfast is better to cold breakfast eggs, seasoned without taste, except on apples no fresh fruit. recipe is in the necessity of accusation on the slim. wlan paid and bad reception. ok for 1 2 nights, no longer recommended."
