"This spot used to be my "go to" restaurant for great Italian food for dinner with friends or for family when they visited. Now, I'm sad to say that at best it is very good and at worse it's fair. When the kitchen is "on" the food is a good representation of quality Italian food. Pizza is usually a safe dish, as are the salads. There is plenty of room for large groups and there is a cheerful patio out back. I've lived in the area for going on 10 years and I still eat there hoping it will be a good night for the kitchen."

"We've been there 3 times and to me, the food has been excellent each time. However, the first time we came, it was with friends and 5 kids under the age of 6, we were greeted with a four letter word beginning with "S" that seemed appropriate at the time, but the owner of the establishment was quite rude. The next time we came with our two kids, we were told they were too busy and sent away (it was empty) because we didn't make a reservation. Tonight, we made a reservation, which was challenged when we arrived, but still upheld. It was interesting though to see and hear through the Italian and German that I know how much she thought of everyone else and even gave a nice couple some free wine to help them celebrate. We didn't get more than gruffly asking if we knew what we wanted yet. She did come by to brush the crumbs off my daughter's seat and correct how she was sitting in her chair repeatedly. But the whole time, she would go to tables next to us and sit with them and laugh, tell stories, pour wine. Seemed like a blast for everyone without kids. So if you want to go, don't bring your kids, otherwise, there are many other Italian places in Kaiserslautern that welcome children."

"My family first ate at Alt Landstuhl in the mid 1980's, and continued to eat there until we left Germany in the 90's. We have been back to the Ramstein/Landstuhl area twice since we left, in 2006 and 2013, and both times we ate at the Alt Landstuhl and the food was exactly as we remembered, if not better as it's something you can't get at home. We ALWAYS order the Chateaubriand, a thick cut of tenderloin served on top of a piece of "toast" with a bearnaise sauce and brown gravy. It comes with vegetables, fries and a potato like dumpling! The escargot is also very good, and I've never had a dessert I didn't like. Most of all the service is excellent, wait staff friendly and wanting to share stories with you. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you come! It's "dressier" but not formal and very kid friendly. Great for a family celebration or a romantic dinner out."
