"I have been coming here since i was a child, and it has always had a really good reputation with locals. It is always really busy in here, and their prices are very cheap compared to some other takeaway shops. The food is still great quality though, and it is our fav takeaway shop"

"Overly rated on the reviews... Ordered chow mein which has no real noodles in it but a tiny lil pack of crispy broken look-alike noodles... Other dishes are either full of starch or oil, and they taste pretty much the same except a lighter or darker tone of the gravy... Terrible food, a totally ripped off!"

"We visited from Melbourne stayed overnight in a nearby hotel. We wanted a quick evening meal bought a 50/50 pizza from here. My half was the Special (tomato, cheese, ham, mushroom, capsicum, olives, anchovies it was really good. My husband had the Tropical (elsewhere known as Hawaiian which had tomato, cheese, ham, pineapple. He said it's the best pizza he's ever had. He's somewhat of a pizza connoisseur so when he says that I know he means it : The garlic bread was a bit burnt on top but still edible. We'll order from here again when we're in the area."

"After five attempts to get there within opening hours this place had a lot to live up to and: it exceeded expectations! It was a big surprise to find a café of such quality, style and philosophy in Lavington. The artworks, the literature spread around to read and the handcrafted benches and tables all added to the experience. From the outside Lemonhead looks like a small little den but it's actually long and spacious albeit a bit devoid of natural light as you move away from the window and entry door. But the colourful pictures on the walls, electric lights and the smiles of friendly staff compensate by brightening up the whole place.Apart from the interior and people working there we also like the philosophy that’s part of this café. Lemonhead makes everything they sell from scratch and are using at least in parts free range and organic ingredients. The owner Allanna also seems to source food as locally as possible in an effort to reduce food miles and limit the café’s environmental footprint.Their takeaway containers and cups are fully compostable and will readily break down leaving no residue; they also strive to follow a no-waste policy. Finally: they say that they’re always in search of the best seasonal, free-range and sustainable local produce. So, anyone: if you have bountiful excess of anything, Lemonhead would love to hear about it.Now to the food. Lemonhead offers healthy sounding breakfasts and lunches, including seemingly invigorating juices and smoothies, smooth coffee and a great range of Tasmanian teas. There's quite a lot of choice for vegetarians and the few fish and meat dishes seem to meet the café’s healthy-living standards. We had salmon on toasted open sandwich with rocket and lemon aeoli as well as pan fried gnocchi with Walnuts, pumpkin and caramelised onion; both dishes were absolutely delicious. For desert we ordered gluten-free plum cake which got served with a dash of what seemed vanilla yoghurt; it too was yummy. Finally: I like my latté (Honeybird, artisan roasters from the alpine region in Victoria). So, all in all were were very happy. Well done, Allanna and staff. Lemonhead will become one of our regular haunts when we're in the area."

"Nice atmosphere but... The meals lacked flavour and were both quite dry and rather overpriced. The staff made some rude remarks and didn't ask if we want a second drink the whole night or if we wanted to see the dessert menu. Sometimes it is nice to be able to see the chefs cook except here when they were eating bread rolls, mucking around and chatting all night. Not worth the money."

"A pleasant surprise during our stay at the hotel boomerang for a weekend. the cultivated bistro served great foods and cocktails. a great place for partys or quiet recreations. loved the atmosphere and the ambiente; enjoyed the amazing lemon butter grilled salmon. invited my close friends to eat with us in “our” hotel and she loved it!"

"The best choice for a healthy lunch. Prompt service during a busy lunchtime, I was served and eating within 5 minutes! Generous serves with the Meat Salad plate and the food was absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly staff. I was served by Caleb and he was so lovely and friendly. Will definitely be back again."
