"Ate here in February while staying in town. Arrived as a group of 7 without pre-booking and were fitted in. The restaurant is located in a quiet square in the older part of town but was well worth seeking out. Food was excellent, I had Salmon rustica which was one of the best meals in a whole week in Germany. Only downside was the seemingly lengthy wait before our orders were taken, but then nobody was in a hurry."

"Nein! Denn die Oase ist die Gaststätte Alt Nordhausen. wir - acht Freunde - waren im Harz unterwegs. In Nordhausen gegen 18:00 gab es Starkregen, aber kein Lokal mit lokalem Essen. Also fuhren wir noch eine Runde durch die Stadt, sahen ein Gasthaus und gingen hinein. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt, wurden zu einem ausreichend großen Tisch gebracht und sofort nach unseren Getränkewünschen gefragt. In der Zwischenzeit hatten wir genügend Zeit, die Speisekarte durchzusehen. Schon die relativ geringe Anzahl der Gerichte läßt den Schluß auf Frische zu. Nach der Bestellung kam ein ein hervorragender "Gruß der Küche" und schließlich unsere Bestellung. Meine Schweinekopfsülze mit Bratkartoffeln waren von außerordentlicher Qualität, dazu mit hausgemachter Remoulade und Salat mit Erdbeerdressing. Einfach großartig.Fazit: Es gibt sie noch, die Gasthäuser mit hoher Qualität, die sich der regionalen Küche und dem Selbermachen verschrieben haben. Und dafür gehören die junge Chefin und der junge Koch vor den Vorhang."
