"Ah Ye Dang, the go-to Korean restaurant. I have been here only twice and twice they didn't disappoint. Had lunch with my friends working in Ortigas so it's readily accessible, easily a walking distance from major offices. It is usually full during weekend nights but it was practically empty when we went there for a weekday lunch.

Like most Korean restaurants, they serve a plethora of banchan but can only refill two of them. We especially like the caramelized baby potatoes so we had those for refill twice.

Ordered Jap Chae, Galbi-jjim and Samgyeopsal for main dishes. The Jap Chae is one of my favourite Korean dish and Ye Dang cooked them very much to my liking. The sweetness is just enough, the glass noodles firm and topped with assorted vegetables and meat. The serving is huge that we had to pack half of it.

Galbijim is basically braised short ribs (beef/pork). This dish easily goes with rice (it's a stew dish). The beef was cooked well/tender and will easily break apart.

Samgyeopsal is a dish composed of plain, unseasoned, pork belly slices. Their Samgyupsal is on the thin side served with slices of onion and is nothing special. The dish is served with a ssamjang and lettuce which are wrapped and eaten all together."

"Was excited to try the food here. As we enter we were seated right away. As it was my first time eating here a waiter gave us a quick tutorial on how to order using the iPad tablet on the table. I was a bit confused though as we were also given the usual table menu. They told us that there were some items that are in the paper menu but are not on the iPad menu. And only the items that are on the iPad that are available for ordering. That said, it still didn't explained why they gave us the paper menu. Anyway, so we ordered from the tablet, and it was so nifty and "hi tech" and the food was service was also quite fast since we were served maybe within 10 to 15 minutes. Also if you are not comfortable ordering via iPad, a waiter can explain everything to you.

As for the food, most of their items are served "teishoku" style or "complete meal set" style. In other words, most of their entrees comes with a bowl of rice, miso soup, chawanmushi or japanese savory egg custard and japanese pickles. I had the Mix Toji Teishoku which is a mix of pork Katsu, shrimp katsu and sukiyaki style beef served on a hot stone dish and the rice was served separately. My brother had the sukiyaki teishoku which is a a big bowl of sukiyaki with both thin noodles and thick udon noodles. As for flavor, it was really good. I like that the sukiyaki beef was really tender and sweet. And the pork katsu was also tender and flavorful. I love that the food were served on hot stone dishes which kept the food warm all through out the entire meal. What I didn't like though, was that the rice and the miso soup were not refillable. But the rice was real Japanese rice so it was really good eventhugh it was "bitin". I ate everything on my set except for the chawanmushi which I never really developed a liking to. Drinks were not included with the set so we ordered lemon iced tea which was also not refillable.

Once you are done, you can again click on the iPad to check your bill and to signal the waiter to get your payment. Prices were a bit expensive comparing it to other Japanese restaurants and considering they don't have free refills.

This is not the first restaurant that I have eaten here in Manila that offers this unique experience of ordering from a tablet. And I think it is a more efficient way of servicing customers. I think children of all ages will like this new "hi-tech" way of service. I just wish this establishment will have more branches out soon!"

"Sorry, I forgot to take a photo, I was hungry. Anyway, I ordered their Beef Wanton Noodle Soup, It's served on a huge metallic bowl, a steal for a price of Php 150. The broth is flavorful, you can feel the authenticity of the chinese cuisine. A generous slice of beef brisket, soft and juicy, with the fat. A couple of big wanton, meaty and flavorful in every bite. The ambience of the store is great. The place is well lit. You can smell the dimsum as the steamers are lined up next to the cash register. You can also see how they cook the noodles; they have this technique in which they intermittently switch from hot to cold water bath and vice versa. I gave it 4.0 as my noodles were a bit...read more"

"Ambiance • 5/5 • The whole restaurant can house approx. 50 people and the place is pristine and posh. I really love the aesthetics of it since it is well-lit, which gave me IG-worthy photos as a result. I've always been a fan of brick walls too, so it's a plus for me. Yay! :)
Service • 3.5/5 • The servers and outlet manager were pleasant-looking and efficient, but I believe they can still improve on their attentiveness and being communicative. It wouldn't hurt to smile often, too! :)
Taste of Food • 3.5/5 • Their Salted Egg Fried Chicken is really delish! I would've given it 5-stars if I hadn't tasted that of DTF's, so I'll only give a score of 4. But it's still heavenly AF especially when paired with their YC rice and chili sauce so you guys should seriously try it! :) Meanwhile, I'd give 3.5 to their Emperor Chopseuy & Yang Chow Rice. Reason? I tasted better versions of these dishes in other Chinese restaurants.
Value for Money • 4.5/5 • Three... read more"
