Schlepzig is a village with just over 600 inhabitants and is located in the Unterspreewald directly on the Spree north of the city of Lübben. As Sprewood Distillers they met in Schlepzig the desire for their own distillery. The main products of small production are STORK CLUB Whisky,Butterbird Rum and a small selection of liqueurs and spirits. The latest product is the Humboldt Gin. On the occasion of the 250. Humbold Jubilee in 2019 developed the recipe for this drink with the help of the Botanical Garden! Seven of the so-called botanicals discovered in a total of 20 years and collected Humboldt on his expeditions. In order to avoid irritation, the extracts presently present in the gin are of course up-to-date and do not come from the Humboldt Collection Box of 1799 1804: In the complex of the distillery, in addition to a small shop there is also a café, here Fairtrade coffee, organic dairy products and ice cream, sausage and cakes are offered by local companies such as milk, meat processing and bakery. Opening times are still to be noted, which will be closed from November to March Monday to Wednesday, on the other days from 10 am to 5 pm.
