"The food is good,but I've eaten there a few times now,but I wish the chef would cook the parsnips and carrots more ,they are not al dente but raw can't cut them with a knife and fork and are not pleasurable to eat,apart from that it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and beautiful gardens. "Visited the George Inn as we had noticed the sign as this being the oldest in the village. A coach load of people had just entered however we found a seat as the inn is a lot bigger on the inside. Very old interior and pleasant bar staff. There is also an outside sitting area at the back along with a car park. Entrance at the side of the pub. There was a few photos of William Fox Talbot which links to Lacock Abbey. Not the cheapest of pubs so only stayed for one drink but the prices are pretty much the same at the second pub in the village."

"We have called for a light lunch today and we were not disappointed. I had the tomato and basilikum soup and my wife had the celery,- lauch and blue cheese soup, both were absolutely noticeable, served with a beautiful piece of krusty. brot and real butter. we also had a piece of their homemade tea loaf and chocolate cake and again they were on the spot. the prices were very reasonable and the staff very friendly. we'd call again in a definitive way."

The guy behind me at 1.50 was disappointed he couldn’t get a burger as they were closing at two. Really nice crisp light batter like tempura style. Parking and toilet too.
