"We visited this evening for dinner only. My parents are down for a few days and I wanted to treat them. I can only comment on the food and the dining area, didn't go to other areas within the hotel and obviously didn't see any of the bedrooms. The outside is very attractive and inviting. The parking was crammed.. not a great start! The menu on offer is quite good, but rather costly to be honest. The presentation of the food is wonderful, and the taste nice too, but it's let down with the cheap cutlery, and the Menus being printed on an A4 sheet of paper and clipped onto a cheap clip board.. I felt that if you're charging £7.95 for a prawn cocktail and £14.95 for a battered haddock and chips, you could offer I little more on that side of things. It looks really tacky. Plus all the chairs are wobbly... Decor is lovely. Some of the staff are very friendly, some are not.. It was the first time we've been there, and to be honest, I wouldn't rush back.. despite the nice food and some nice staff. Everything else let it down and as I said, for the high charges, I'd rather go somewhere else a little more up-market for dinner."

"A great pub. We've been here for a few years. Beautiful old pub interior with wooden floors and beams and flawless beer garden with plenty of seating. The landlord always has a few real ales and ciders on tap that regularly change and a good selection of gins and vodka shots. Very recommended for a nice relaxing drink in a beautiful environment."

"After my pescatar woman ordered some fish and chips (if they eat fish, she recommends the cod and chips). I ordered a green burger. I always get paranoid over places that sell meat and make me worry that I get real flesh, so in the rule for a safe option that they can not get wrong. they do not make a meat version of the green burger, so thought it was a safe bet. it came quite clear with a plant-based sticker that was burger itself ok if not a bit basic, I would give it 6/10. I had better chicken substitute burger from the super market, but considering limited vegan options in fish and chip shops this was more than welcome. the chips were delicious and we both got a very fair part. it is quite expensive, but the chips are good quality. my wife said that her meal was the best fish and chips she had one. they get what they pay for. if they are in the company of non-Veggies / vegans that are fish and chips or they just want a classic chip shop dinner then churchill’s have covered the vegan."

"Spring rolls lacked any filling, the ones we buy from the Chinese supermarket and deep fry ourselves are a millions times better, the chips were really dry and tasteless. Very poor selection of vegan food, would not return. Fortunately the girl working there seemed to know the ingredients and was helpful as she could be, shocked to learn the curry sauce has “pig fat” in it, yum"
