"I went to Johnny's for my birthday on the 31st May, completely blown away with the service and delicious meals and cocktails. As soon as myself and my group entered we were greeted kindly and taken to our reservation table. We had the deep pan pizza ( Capone) and a Gnocchi dish along with a few cocktails. The waiter Thomas was very knowledgeable, friendly and interesting to listen to, as he explained the menu in great detail. To top it off the cocktail expert made me a birthday drink! This place really has it's spark! One of the best places I've been!Will be back again to try other parts of the menu as soon as I canThank you"

"I am more inclined to give the restaurant a 3.5 but thought I’d be generous considering I took advantage of the Dimmi offer. The food was great, most dishes were done well. We ordered the eye fillet and pork as our main dishes. The beef tartare was our favourite entree but the salmon gravlax was disappointing. The blini was fairly dry. While the owner (or whom I presume was the owner) did an amazing job of serving guests and speaking through the menu, his offsider waiter was a bit too relaxed, did not seem to know what he was doing or check on us to see how our meal was going while the other person was madly busy. For the price, the meals could be a bit more imaginative. They were still delicious, but a bit too simple for me and serving sizes were typical of the french style. In summary, La Pesa has potential, I’d like to see them try new things to attract more business."

"Found an old tissue in one of our water glasses when delivered stacked to the table. Deafeningly loud room. Waited an hour for food then asked where it was the order had been lost. It appeared at least two other tables meals had had the same problem. After resubmitting our order the 4 dishes were promised within 10 minutes. To our surprise food was provided within the timeframe. To our surprise the food was not that that we had ordered. We ate. I enjoyed. Solid 3.5. Looking forward to the next visit."

"Small restaurant on busy Oxford St, just like eating in Saigon with street traffic noise. Small laminated tables ,but clean.Have eaten there twice and find meal tasty and value for money , Two entrees and a shared main around $ 22.00. Food has been tasty and freshly prepared, close to transport and St Vincents hospital. Had been going to the hospital so very handy and quick service."
