"I went here for the first time and although there are many diners in the Midtown region, this is definitely one of the best diners I had for a long time. the service was the only thing I didn't like. even if they are slow, they keep pushing and hurry. when I order a meal and eat, I like to relax and feel not rushed. that was good. I ordered the hot open turkey sandwich and it was excellent. the truthahn was juicy and the brot was fresh, and they actually used real giblet gravur in contrast to most diners I had. overall I had a good experience. I'll be back in a moment."

"Dec. 2012. The wife and I visited Scotty's twice while in NYC for our anniversary. The first day we had brunch. She had the NY Pastrami wrap which she raved about. The wrap included cheese, dijon mustard, a mountain of pastrami in a wrap. It was accompanied by fries, a pickle and cole slaw. I had a bacon, egg cheese omelet, which was very good. It came complete with country potatoes and toast. The morning staff was very nice and attended to our every need. A+ for our morning trip.<br/ <br/ The second time we went was a late night dinner, as we spent all day running around NYC doing some Christmas shopping. That night my wife got the corned beef wrap, again with fries, a pickle and cole slaw. I went with the open faced roast beef sandwich. It was accompanied with mashed potatoes and corn. As good as her pastrami wrap was, she said that the corned beef wrap was the opposite. The wrap was soggy, the meat was tough and had little to no flavor. The roast beef was tender, hot and was plentiful. I had to get a to-go plate because I couldn't eat it all. We also got a piece of strawberry cheesecake that was fantastic. The night staff was not nearly as nice as the morning staff. The cashier was rude and the wait staff in the evening was not as effecient as the morning staff. Overall, Scotty's was a good place and we will try again when we are back in NYC, but only for breakfast or brunch.<br/ <br/ C- for our evening trip."

"1- Food 5/5. Always very happy with the quality and preparation of the dishes we have tried. 2- Service 5/5. From the moment you enter this restaurant you are greeted warmly from a friendly hostess. Waitresses and waiters are friendly and accommodating. The owner of this restaurant who is always present definitely knows his stuff when it comes to running a diner. 3- Atmosphere 5/5. Very Greek like New York City diner feel. Exactly what you would expect a diner to look and feel like in manhattan. 4- Reservations 5/5. None taken. Nice size diner so they are usually very accommodating and they are open for service 24/7 ,,,365 days a year. 5- Value 4/5. I have been eating and ordering from this place for 35 years, I Would definitely recommend and return."

"Hands down the best cold cuts in the financial district and that 's saying something. An institution on 3rd ave, their downtown location is a hidden gem pumping out the best roast beef, pastrami and corn beef I 've possibly ever had. Keep up the great work guys!
