"Early on a Saturday night the place was very busy and is, I assume, very popular. It 's clean and is very appealing on the inside. The menu looks like it has some really good options. There was a wait list for a table BUT, I was solo, so I sat at the bar in the lounge to eat. The server at the bar was new. First, I ordered a cocktail, rum and coke to be specific. After taking the order she walked away and came back a minute or two later to ask if I wanted diet-coke or regular. Huh? IF that has to be a question, shouldn 't it be asked up front. Oh well. Next, I asked for a menu and asked what she might recommend. She told me she didn 't know because she just started working today ! I have a GRIPE! IF a restaurant hires a new server, bartender, bus person, whatever, shouldn’t they TRAIN them ahead of time! Somebody should be working WITH the new person to ensure they don 't louse things up! I overheard the new person talking with another staff person about who she could follow around? Huh again? Shouldn 't somebody be assigned to work with the new person? This encounter was very frustrating and likely prevents me from returning. For dinner, I decided to get one of the lighter meals, a sandwich, simply named Smoked Meat with a side of onion rings. The Onion Rings were EXCELLENT! The sandwich, as described is, piled high between two slices of mustard brushed marble rye bread, was just ok. The meat was moist and flavorful but if there was any brushed mustard on this thing, they must have used an artist brush to do it! While the meat WAS moist, without adequate condiment, the sandwich was dry. I ended up leaving the bread and eating the meat. They also play music in the lounge, which is fine, but it was much too loud for my taste and prevented me from being able to hear the person next to me talk. Maybe this night was an exception to the norm but it was enough to make me want to try someplace else next time…just my opinion of course."
