"We have often eaten here for Sunday lunch whilst we are staying in France (just over the border). It's great value and the food is good. We don't usually book, so even though there are a few coach trips and large parties which book, you can usually get a table as the restaurant is large. We have walked over the mountain from Las Illas (France) to eat here, and you get wonderful views of the Bay of Roses, but usually take the more conventional route by car! On our last visit we had the opportunity to eat a seasonal local speciality, calcots, which are a special type of young onion, cooked on the barbecue until they are charred on the outside, and served with a wonderful romesco sauce. We were provided with paper bibs and disposable gloves so we didn't get messy and the waiter kindly showed us how to eat them delicious. The food is always good my husband had the galtes de porc (pork cheek, another local speciality) and I had grilled rabbit. The scenery around the restaurant is beautiful and the drive up there is not too hair raising. Although there is an English version of the menu, not much English is spoken, so a knowledge of French or Spanish would be useful. Thoroughly recommended."
