"We joined our friends for dinner last week at Comal while staying at Las Ventanas — hoping to erase the train wreck dinner the night before at Manta. While Comal looks the part, the food was rather lackluster and bland. And the server outright lied...to us and overcharged for more tip. The restaurant is beautiful, open air, and looks the part. It was too dark but you could hear the waves crashing nearby. Very inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match. The seafood bbq that our friends ordeered was good but not particularly well seasoned. The whole snapper that my husband and I shared was overcooked and bland to flavorless — as if they hadn’t bothered to season it at all. Very disappointing. Desserts were fine. The final insult was the server convincing our friend that the resort fee of over $100 wasn’t service charge or tip but went toward hotel security and housekeeping. It was clear to us he was lying to get more tip, but our friend believed him and tipped on top of that unbeknownst to us. We called the restaurant and Chileno Bay management the next day but never heard back from anyone. The restaurant and hotel should be ashamed of themselves. We would avoid."

"We arrived in Cabo just hours before setting off to Walmart to pick up groceries. The first priority was getting lunch, and I knew there was a food court near Walmart. We were in the mood for something Mexican and we wanted seafood. Since we...were eating a larger meal in the evening we also did not want food that sat heavy in the stomach. La Picazon looked like a good choice. It was better than good. The food was excellent and beyond our expectations. The ladies liked the frozen drinks, and the beer was inexpensive. I had a shrimp cocktail and we had shrimp wraps and tacos. The shrimp were very fresh. The manager of the La Picazon was also the owner and he went out of his way to serve us and make sure we were happy with our food. It was much better food than many of the pub style restaurants that attract tourists but fall short on the quality of the food."

"The food is always good and the staff are the nicest people you will ever find anywhere. Their not responsible for transportation and FYI the taxi union dominates southern Baja. Anyways my favorite place in town."
