"During our stay in Palenque we tried out a bunch of eateries. I have to say that it is very very difficult to find really good food in this town. We've came across great food on our Mexico Trip...but not in this town.This place is right at the main square in downtown Palenque. It's pretty much a Hole-in-the-wall. The menu is all about simple mexican food for low prices.The service here was very friendly. We went for some beef tacos and some Horchata. The beef was pretty chewy and the meat smelled a bit old, but we didn't get any stomach-ache. It was a very bland meal, didn't have anything special about it...even with the extra sauces and salsa. We've had better ones (like in the Mercado on Cozumel). The Horchata was very good though. There's not much more to say. We didn't try other meals. But I guess the meat quality won't differ much. But the place is good enough to fill your stomach or at least good for some Horchata on a hot and humid day in Palenque.Wanna know more about my trips? "We had breakfast here before heading out to the ruins and it was nothing special. White toast with packet jam and butter and awful coffee. My Spanish omelette was good - flavoursome and well cooked, however husband's heuvos rancheros were bad. Slimy and bland and only came with one overcooked egg. Service was prompt but not particularly friendly. We've had cheaper and much better breakfasts in Mexico than this."

"Il classico ristorantino messicano. Solito cibo. Con un paio di buone aggiunte. Uno staff che trotta e sa lavorare. Una buona cucina. Un prezzo qualche pesos sopra gli altri ma poca roba. Noi in due abbiamo speso 40 euro mancia inclusa."

"When we were staying at the Hotel Maya Tulipanes in November 2013, this was one of the top rated restaurants in Palenque. We always had good service and it has all the Mexican classics you would be looking for, made with quality ingredients. It also has a great selection of American-type food if you are travelling with kids or non-adventurous eaters although my nephew was not overly impressed with a Club sandwich he ordered). All in all, nice restaurant with good food and good service. Make sure you present any coupons or special offers BEFORE you order, or they cannot honor them."

"We accidentally stepped in for dinner and were surprised how delicious the meals were! They spoilt us with juice which can be chosen from a wide variety of fruits and veggies. Cafe de Yara is especially famous for their organic coffee (which we tried too in the end great! , but also the meals were delicious and they were very open for changings (e.g. have a different vegetable etc . Our waiter was more than nice and professional we had a splendid evening. Btw: They also sell organic jam and honey also recommendable!"
