"Don't send them back. the waiter will come and get a fight when they do. my wife margarita was too sweet for her, so I tried, and yes, it was sweet above the tip. then I tried my mother and it was better. When I asked the waitress to take it back, one of the waiters (the tattooed guy) comes by and began to argue with me that the margarita was in order. flat out said I was wrong and that it wasn't too sweet. I asked him if he had made it. he didn't. I asked him if he tasted it. he didn't. then I asked him if it was possible that the person who made the margarita had too much mix in this. he said: no, it is not possible. they? all have done the same?. instead of just taking the drink back and refunding our money, he decided to argue with us before the whole restaurant and to call my wife and I a liar without ever really knowing if the drink was too sweet. as far as eating is concerned, this was my third visit, because my parents like to come here. the first time the garnelen burrito had so much white that I could not eat it. the second time I ordered what I thought was a safe bet the fajitas, but they were bland and tasteless. this time I ordered carne asada tacos and they were not too bad. the flesh was still dirty, but with the guacamole and salsa, not bad; but too many other good Mexican choices to treat with rude waiter and marginal food. never comes back here."

"TACO TACO we LOVE you!!!! My daughter and I had fish tacos at the bar today. We haven't been there since we moved 7 years ago and we both agreed it was just as good as the day we moved from SD! Glad some things are reliable and don't change! Can't wait to come back!"

"Best as ever! We've been eating in Mexi-Cocina for 30 years. We were through the four owners and everyone has kept the same big menu and recipes. We travelled with 43 countries every month, for 15 years. We tried "Tex-Mex" food in every state. We found four who came close to Mexi-Cocina, but nothing better. We have so many “Tex-Mex” restaurants here in San Diego and surroundings and again try not to compare. The other Mexican restaurants in Poway were really disappointing. The food was over/understood and there was no taste what-so-ever! We loved Robert and missed him, he was a friend. We have now eaten our restaurant under the new owner and not only the food as wonderful as before, there are new plans and ideas. Angie is really focused on keeping Mexi-Cocina the best. Angie created two new desserts. They now offer fried ice cream and absolutely wonderful cheesecake curros. You will not believe the wonderful Churros! The cheesecake filling is so smooth and creamy and the chur is sweet and super finished! If you miss this, you missed a lot. Make yourself a favor and come to Mexi-Cocina for great food and the super new desserts. Once you taste the food and get to know Angie, come back. We will make this restaurant safe for another 30 years! Thanks to Angie and Luiz for giving us and our visitors another pleasant experience."

We traveled on business every month, covering 43 States, for 15 years. We have tried “Tex-Mex” food in every State. We have found four that came close to Mexi-Cocina, but none better. We have tried so many “Tex-Mex” restaurants here in San Diego and surrounding area and again, none compare. The other Mexican restaurants in Poway were really disappointing.
