"My man and I were there for the first time yesterday and it was wonderful. they make the best homemade pupusas. everything was fresh and delicious. we also had the texanas fajitas. super delicious! very clean and the hospitality was amazing. filz like home."

"Best Tex Mex in the area. Family owned. Definitely has a regular fan base. The owners are passionate about El Matador and their customers. The food is really good, depending on what you want. I have heard that you can judge a texmex place through the chips and salsa even before your order. El Matador lives there."

"I guess it just depends on the day. I always have a huge order. They don't miss a beat and are patient. Need to work on your southwest vinaigrette though. Not always on point. Always needs to be fresh with fresh cilantro. Cilantro should be cut with a knife, do not take short cuts and use the tomato cutter. Your cilantro will wilt and go bad very fast. The cutter that is used to cut up tomatoes for Pico basically chews the cilantro and starts the break down of the herb faster."

"I had what seemed like a decent Torta al pastor from here and got heavy food poisoning. I had to get into the emergency room to replace electrolytes and get zofran. I was sick a whole week. Las Meras was very recommended to me, and I felt very disappointed. I normally do not place any negative reviews, but this place has so many positive, I felt as if it is my duty to share my experience."

"I went to El Matador's restaurant since 1982. My parents took me there when I was a kid, and now I take my family. This place is not your usual restaurant. From 1968, this restaurant served as a kind of hidden treasure at Upstate, SC. David and his team are nothing but culinary genius. The atmosphere is original and it feels like at home. Salsa is dying because I know he is not imported or bought. David grows his own paprika and creates this wonderful taste I have enjoyed for years. They're doing everything out of the ground. The staff is by far the most polite thing I have ever experienced, and that says a lot in today's time when others treat you as inconvenience. Try this place, take your family and friends. You'll be glad you did it."
