"Sweet O'Clock is a Taiwanese dessert shop located in North York, just south of Yonge and Finch. This dessert shop is well known for their freshly handmade taro balls, herbal jellies and tofu puddings, not to mention other sweet treats such as shaved ice desserts and a wide variety of cold drinks. Recently, Sweet O'Clock has introduced a food menu that serves delicious Taiwanese meals for dining in or take out. I had the opportunity to come by and get a taste of their new food menu along with their drinks and desserts."

"You have to look at the pork chop with onions, the best so far in China Town. Finding the stairs took some time, it is located on the second floor. Service was great. Eating really tasted what I tried a few years ago in Hong Kong... which brings many memories back."

"This restaurant is an old stand by, centrally located in Chinatown, easy to find, lots of seating, reasonably priced. Noisy as heck when it is full, which is most of the time. The food depends on the chef of the day. Sometimes it is absolutely sublime, sometimes it tastes like someone threw a few ingredients into a pot and heated them up. I go back frequently because when the good chefs are around, you just can't stop eating. Young Chow fried rice, noodle dishes, a variety of beef and chicken dishes, veggie dishes ... There's something for every palate.Stay away from the "specials" ... They are the worst, tasting like they came out of a can, not authentic to any ethnicity! The menu is vast, so it may take a few attempts to discover your favourites, but there are some delicious dishes. Beef with black pepper is a consistently well made dish, as is the oyster and eggplant hotpot ... And I would order a fried rice or noodle as well just because they are so good when the good chefs are in the back!"

"This is a local Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall with lots of regulars. It's nothing fancy, but good solid food. We always know we'll be happy and full. Prices are good and reasonable. I've been to this restaurant with extended family at least 4 times and I'm sure we'll be back."

"What a busy place! Visited on a Sunday night, and it was packed! The servers were friendly and quite accommodating. The place itself is a bit tight in terms of table arrangements and is noisy but not too the point where you cant have a conversation.Food was delicious and decent quantity. My personal favorite were the chicken wings. All in all, would definitely visit again."

"I ate at Taste of Yunnan for the first time today with a close friend who also used to live in Yunnan province in southwestern China. I am so thrilled that we finally ate here, and I will be dreaming about returning - it was a fabulous meal. After returning to Canada from years living in China, I have performed an exhaustive search for the most authentic offerings of my favourite Chinese specialty dishes. Included in my roamings are Chinese restaurants from across the country including Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston - and I have never feasted on more delicious and authentic tasting food than I did today at Taste of Yunnan. We had Across the Bridge rice noodles, a specialty rice noodle dish where all of the ingredients are cooked in your bowl of soup right at the table. The base is a bone broth with a very special blend of herbs and spices - I have no idea of the combination, but it is delicious. Then a raw quail egg, several varieties of thinly sliced and raw meats, mushrooms, tripe, deep fried pork gristle, greens and Chinese pickles are dropped into the boiling soup to cook. After waiting a minute or two, the rice noodles are then added and the result is one delicious meal.We had a fried noodle dish that I had never tried, but would enjoy eating again, even now as I write this! Some Yunnan dumplings (pork and chives) and shaomai. In the end, we decided to try some Chinese pancakes, we tried the corn and the sourdough varieties. We basically rolled out the door at the end of our meal.My friend is fluent in Mandarin as well as the local dialect Kunming-hua and charmed the staff and laoban, so we also were able to have some conversation about Kunming, what we had been doing there, and how delicious and authentic the food was. At the end of our meal, we were surprised with a beautiful mango tapioca for dessert, it was beautiful and so very tasty. If you are looking for inexpensive and authentic Chinese food, or more specifically southwestern Chinese specialties, you should go straight to Taste of Yunnan for your next meal. For someone craving the flavours of Kunming, or another wanting to try something new, this place is not to be missed. I am not sure when they first opened their doors, but I am certain that once they are found out by local foodies and visitors, there will be a queue out the door. I will be back as soon as possible."
