"Had family pick up food from here while i?m in the hospital and it was the most fresh, delicious, comforting food I could ask for. The portions are well worth the price and the presentation even in a togo box was beautiful. The vegetarian rolls weredelicious!!! It truly made a bad day better and warmed my heart! "First let’s get on the same page about what Taiwan Noodle is not. It is not a fancy, trendy spot. There is no bar, no alcohol. It’s not fancy and it’s not trying to be fancy. But Taiwan Noodle most definitely does not need to try to be anything that it’s not. Because it is PURE DELICIOUSNESS. OMG. Seriously. Taiwan Noodle is not huge, but plenty of seating and can accommodate larger parties or a single diner, like me. Nice, simple, bright space. Also! Off street parking lot. Which, if you know Central Ave in Albany is a pretty cool thing. I had looked at the menu and food pics online and when I saw ROWS OF DUMPLINGS I knew I was going. I am always going to give Dim Sum a try. I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry, which usually isn’t a problem at Chinese restaurants because there are plenty of vegetable and seafood options. Taiwan Noodle doesn’t really have much in the way of seafood. But! There were some very authentic meat type ingredients and when I see that on a menu I want to try the food. Full Disclosure: I did not make it past the appetizer menu. I mean I ordered a decent sampling of appetizers. But once I bit into the steamed vegetable dumplings I knew I needed a whole, second order of those… Here’s the thing, whenever I try a new spot and I see vegetable dumplings I order them. And, you know, they’re bland. They’re always bland. But I gotta try. The steamed vegetable dumplings at Taiwan Noodle are NOT bland. So. Much. Flavor!! So Delicious. Amazing. I was thrown by the fact that there’s just not that much “detail” on the menu. Every section contains a “mixed vegetable” version. But there is no indication of what those vegetables are. So I made the HIGHLY INCORRECT assumption that they were not putting much effort into their vegetable items. I bit into that first vegetable dumpling and it was The Most Delicious Chinese Food I have ever eaten. And I have eaten a lot a lot of Chinese Food. The dumplings have carrots and wood ear mushrooms and glass noodles etc. They are a mouth explosion of flavor and umami. I ate my 4 and ordered another 4 and ate those too… My “first round” also included shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings and fried white fish (which is featured as a “speciality” . The shrimp rolls look like spring rolls, but are packed with shrimp like you would get in shrimp Dim Sum which you DO get in the shrimp dumplings. So I had double shrimp!. Again: DELICIOUS. And the fried white fish? I think my order contained 8 of what I’d describe as a fritter?? Thin white fish fillets folded together, breaded and deep fried. So when you bite in (you must WAIT for everything to cool down enough to bite into. Because this food arrives to your table PIPING hot to each one you are getting a lot of perfectly fried fish. They were served with Kewpie Mayonnaise as a dipping sauce. I had my doubts. But then I dipped. Amazing. So good. Since my first 3 items were just Off The Charts good I decided to order the scallion pancake. I find Chinese scallion pancakes mainly disappointing. Not these. They were PERFECTLY cooked. So the outside is flaky and crisp and the “inside” is moist and flavorful. Kind of like the most perfectly flaky, savory, thin pie crust you’ve ever had. I don’t eat leftovers. I don’t even keep them from a restaurant. I kept the scallion pancake and fried white fish I couldn’t finish (BECAUSE I ATE 8 VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS!! and ate them cold directly out of my fridge the next night. And they were still delicious. Amazing, amazing food. Next time I will force myself to push past the appetizers and Dim Sum!!"

"I love Mr. Dewie's! It's a little pricey, but I think that is to be expected for a local, plant-based ice cream spot. They always have new and creative flavors and many solid classics. Regardless of flavor, I almost always top with their caramel sauce which is AMAZING and I could probably eat a bowl of just that! Definitely recommend for anyone who wants a tasty non-dairy ice cream , and to support a local business :"

"Almost a 5 Star Dining Experience Located in the Renaissance Albany Hotel, Wellington 's offers "high end American fare, engaging staff, mixology inspired beverage offerings. While we did not partake in their inspired mixology, we did sample their high end fare and experience a serving who was so engaged he was distracted in the most important part of his job, ensuring our meal was what we expected. Wellington 's website showcases a dining room with plush bench seating, swivel tulip chairs, and wooden tables with round back dining chairs. We found a dining room filled with boxy, high armed chairs with rickety adjustable tables and marble rounds with, again, boxy, high armed chairs. Neither of the seating options offers a comfortable seating experience; I sat on the edge of my seat so my arms weren 't boxed into the chair. From a comfort perspective, they should seriously consider replacing their tables and chairs. Our server was extremely engaging. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and shared his thoughts on various dishes. My husband craved steak, so he asked about the fillet in comparison to the pork chop. Our server said the fillet was the better choice between the two dishes. My husband took his advice and ordered the fillet whereas I was eager to try their pork short rib. I found it odd that the menu stated a singular rib but ordered it despite my curiosity. We started our meal with a bruschetta appetizer topped with gold beet puree, goat cheese, a balsamic glaze, and toasted walnuts served over a fresh, and crips watercress salad. It was the star dish of our dinner. Some reviewers rave about the Wellington Caesar salad. We found it to have too much dressing which was heavy on the lemon and lacking in creaminess, and the croutons bordering on being too crunchy/stale. We will pass on the Caesar in our future visits. Our meal came and we were dismayed to see the kitchen staff delivered a pork short rib and a pork chop. It turns out it was our server 's mistake in placing our order. Given that I already had my dish, and my husband was considering the pork chop, he opted to keep what we were told was 'the last pork chop in the house '. We ended up swapping dishes as my husband thought the pork rib was closer to the texture of the steak he didn 't receive. The pork chop was glazed with a hoisin sauce, served over stir fried rice, with what I believe to be a shaved Brussel sprout side salad. The pork chop was cooked well as was the rice. The side salad had a good flavor but was a bit limp. All in all, it was a solid dish worth trying. The pork short rib is a misnomer; it is a boneless pork roast. The dish offered an ample amount of perfectly cooked pork yet it needed a glaze, gravy, or chutney something to bring it to life. Served over mashed potatoes and broccolini, and topped with three, three rings of delicata squash, the dish was good but there was nothing special about it. What Wellington 's excels at is value. Dishes are large and the cost is reasonable. We did enjoy our dinner experience despite some of its shortcomings. And we will return but with the hope that we get what we order."
