"This is a lovely spot to stop on your way to Apollo Bay for a lovely lunch, hard to make a decision, everything looks and sounds beautiful. Wash your lunch Down with their own craft beer and ciders, delicious. Staff are so very welcoming and friendly, sit inside our out the front at their rustic tables and chairs. Highly recommend this place"

"We were lucky enough to have scored a gift to attend Bespoke which took some time to get around to fulfilling. We visited in late autumn on a somewhat gloomy day. What a find and what an asset for the area!Let me say from the outset that Emma is a very personable front of house host. She was knowledgeable about the items on the menu and the cooking approaches taken. Her knowledge of the local wines was particularly well resourced so it was a delight to dine at a place so attuned to the fruits and produce of its surrounding area.Although each course was small in size we found that by meal end the quantity was sufficient and certainly did not want for more. The menu with pictures of the dishes are attached. Our considered opinion of the dishes was that these were cooked and served with a high degree of proficiency but nothing was a standout. Perhaps the best dish was the leek with walnut, capers and ricotta - unusual and beautifully presented. The small leeks were excellent in texture and the sweetness of the carmelised walnuts, capers and onions with the tartness of the ricotta was delish! On the other hand the fermented kale stems was overpowered by the harissa making it very north African -BTW: kale sure is trendy but who actually likes it?? The pork shoulder, likewise, was alright but packed no big flavour(s) which it should have given the length of the slow bake (I also found it overly fatty). The dessert offering was one of the highlights and a grand pairing of rhubarb with pistachio and apple served with a wonderfully green tea & lavender ice cream. We were offered a refreshing vermouth and gin with kefir (fermented milk drink) & lemon at the beginning of the degustation. We chose a bottle of Lethbridge tempranillo rather than the accompanying wine option. The wine list is local and hence not extensive - but sufficient. Proficient, enjoyable, inviting and well waited upon no doubt but imagine what Bespoke could be by lifting just that little bit...Helpful suggestions for Emma & Simon:Background music is always a delicate balance to get right. One tip to keep in mind is that the music is for the customers rather than the chef or wait staff. Listening to music from this decade when the audience were all 50+ years would seem odd. There's plenty of beautiful ambience music from the 1940s, 50s and even the 70s that older patrons might find less distracting. Having younger singers do remakes of classics I find irritating - but I;m particular with music. On the cold day we could not figure why the wood fire was not alight. This would have warmed up the room in the early afternoon and added to the atmosphere. The restaurant is intimate enough to have Chef present one of the courses to the tables and have some conversation with the diners - such interaction makes the dining experience even the more memorable & allows Simon to speak about his passion.Definitely a restaurant worth making the trip to visit. And full marks for the approach to keep the produce miles to a minimum - it can be done! I think in high summer it could be capped off with a visit to the little brewery a stone's throw up the street."

"Unfortunately the coffee isn't that good. It's a little cafe catering for the bike market and has recently changed owners. The caramel slice was good though. Unfortunately for the Corner Store there is now competition in Forrest so they will have to lift their game to survive."
