"Private dining is popular in Hong Kong, and I have to say Soland belongs to a new group of hidden dining It's not easy to find. When you turn onto Gilman's Bazaar off Queen's Road Central, look for the immediate small alley to the left. There is absolutely no signage, on the street, the corner, the building itself. You'll see an old walk-up building, still with no signage. Once you start walking up the stairs, you'll see a small Soland sign on the mail boxes. Continue walking up 4 levels to 3/F, and you'll find Soland. It's in a converted tiny apartment. All the customers at lunch today were HK women. Later, a couple of men came. The food is really boring and bland. There is no choice: just one plate of rice, a little lettuce and mixed veggie. They advertise that everything is vegan and healthy, no deep frying, no stir frying even! Supposedly they use coarse salt, but I couldn't taste any evidence of that. I can cook much better at home. The menu lists a choice of Set A B, the difference being that set A comes with soup or drink (HK$50), and set B comes with both soup and drink (HK$55). Of course, set B is a better deal, but you don't get a choice. You'll be served soup before ordering, and later you'll be asked for your choice of drink, which is included. The only other decision you'll make is either tomato or curry sauce with the main plate (for today, anyway). The waitress was pushing their dessert big time afterwards for an additional HK$35, I think. I think this type of restaurants serves a purpose in HK, where there is limited vegetarian, let alone vegan, options, and most local Chinese veggie restaurants serve greasy MSG-laden Cantonese food with a lot of mock meats. Still, the food here is so bland and uninspired that, were I not on vacation, there'd have been no reason to eat here. I can cook much better and equally healthy vegan food at home in a matter of minutes. By the way, the soup today was tomato soup, bland and thin. The drink we chose was the fruit smoothie, also bland and thin. Reservation is preferred; they can't always accommodate walk-ins. Only lunch is served from 12:00-15:00; closed Sat, Sun and holidays."

"We invited two friends who are not vegan to eat with us. they were astonished as the taste of eating and were very happy with the meal. we were also very happy with how delicate the meal. it is a really nice place to have a beautiful French cuisine, but vegan. the price is definitiw not at the lower end, but we thought that money with the food and the service was well spent."

"So happy! Today, on the HappyCow Vegan Guide App, this new ingenious vegan restaurant Reineckea Reineckea has only been here for three months. Super friendly staff, many great frozen vegan products from Taiwan, great cen music and atmosphere. Besides, I was only HKD65. Very recommended!"

"On the 15th floor with a view of the boats on the water, they could come here only for the lookout! specialized in coffee (which is strong) and tee, and have a coffee car in the ground floor on weekdays. stretched room with friendly service. the pumpkin vieggie wrap "rolex was fantastic, and the beyond burger, served on a gluten-free injera bee (that looks/taste like a pancake) was also great. Nice to see more options for vegan and vegetarian on this side of the hk island."

"I have a simple bagel with avocado after my my mysore class. Wünsch, they had more hearty protein-filled options, but that was still delicious! They season the avocado with peppers, which gives the meal a really nice kick. Also appreciate the availability of a coffee ball combo price. Her soy milk coffees are amazing. Never get the almond milk – but for soya they use Happy Soy Boy and it's incredible!"

"Inexpensive take away selling what seems to be the usual suspects for all vego eateries in HK. I paid 30 HK bucks for a box of mixed mock meat items. Tasty food served quickly and efficiently at a bargain price. Location is straight across the street from exit B of Tin Hau MTR station. I'm updating this from my previous rating to 5. I stayed just around the corner from here for 12 days. I ate out of this place almost daily. Its terrific. Tasty food served quickly and efficiently at great value prices. Anyone on non dairy watch out as at least one of the spring rolls is made using milk products. The staff don't speak much English (but far better than my Cantonese) but if you ask about milk and eggs they seem to understand."

"I keep coming back to Veggie Express for their food (their monkey head mushroom w beancurd and broccoli dish!! and will continue to, however their service is pretty bad. Staff are pretty clueless about their menus, about which dishes contain dairy, and overall just seem like they do not want to be there. Other than this, everything else is great."

"When viewing the menu, there is no indication that the balance is facing vegetarianism towards the consumption of dead animals. the absolute deal breaker for me is however that fois gras is listed on the menu. I would humbly ask why this device is listed on this website. especially in hk where the number of Vego foods is more than 100."

"Large menu marked with non-vegan elements. the peeing pancakes were fantastic. the baked aubergine with chop meat was extremely salty and oily, and not very beautiful. the pot-adhesive noodles were not real pot sticks, but were deep fried and not so much tasted. service was good and eat quickly."
