"Yes, this place has good coffee but they have no idea of how to run a service-based business, which is what it's supposed to be. I had been there several times since January for a cup of coffee and I bought an Italian-style coffeemaker from...them, so they know who I am..The first time I went, I asked for a small coffee, which according to the menu card on the counter was an 8 oz. cup for 12 pesos. The man poured the coffee and said 18 pesos. I pointed to the menu to the smallest coffee and he said, Oh, you didn't say you wanted that one. Every other time I went there, I was very specific about the ounces. Today I walked in intense heat about a mile to the place to buy a bag of ground coffee, arriving at the shop at 9:30 am. I told the counter man I wanted a half kilo of coffee and a small cup to drink there. It seemed to confuse him that I wanted to do both things but eventually he understood (this was not a language problem). He ground the coffee, poured me a cup and said that's 142 pesos. i gave him a 500 peso note and he said he couldn't change it so early in the morning (9:30). He opened the cash drawer and there was absolutely nothing in it. Have you just been robbed? I asked. No? Okay, so what do you want to do? He told me, You have to go find change. I said, Wait, this is not my responsibility. You can stop a cab driver or go to another shop here and get change. This is your business. I'm the customer. But he insisted that I should have known that at 9:30 in the morning he wouldn't have any money in the shop! So it was my problem, not his. Then he complained, And you made me grind a half kilo of coffee! I told him that it was the shop's responsibility to have change for customers, of course, otherwise he needed to post a big sign above the door that said Customers Must Enter With Exact Change. I told him, as an example, that I used to have a bookstore in NY and every day I went to the bank and got a selection of coins and bills so that my customers were never inconvenienced like this, because the customers were the ones KEEPING THE BUSINESS IN BUSINESS. I asked him again what we could do about the situation. I thought maybe, since they know me, they will take my ID and let me have the coffee and later, when they had change, I could come back, etc. But no. Either I had the exact money or it was adios without the coffee. I told him he had just lost a customer and he said he didn't care. Goodbye."

"Great little raspados and yogurt shop away from the main road. The owner, Media, was lovely and helpful in explaining the flavors and options on the wall. The yogurt was blended with fruits right there when you order it, and all of the flavors/syrups were home made by her, even the condensed milk! She did share that they close the place down for the winter in mid November and reopen in March. If you are here in the winter time, you'll have missed out!"
