"Fantastic to see this cafe re open after this dreaded virus hit us all. Of its type it is quiet, bright, airy and has a great light lunch menu including jacket potatoes, panninis, a soup of the day plus a few other dishes. The dishes are presented very well with a lovely fresh salad garnish. The cake selection is also very nice for this type of establishment. The staff are very helpful, cheerful and always serve with a smile. Needless to say I am a regular visitor here no need for me to go elsewhere as I have tried most other places in Horley and this is by far the best..."

"I went with my friend for a morning coffee, as we like costa coffee. my coffee was very weak, so I asked a little more coffee in, I didn't ask for a new one as I could see that they were busy instead. they made me another coffee and it tasted very different and I couldn't drink it. I didn't ask for another person because the staff was not friendly and no smile from each of them. They actually looked angry because my friend left her second coffee she had bought when she didn't enjoy it, but didn't complain. I'm sorry if they don't like their job, but please don't take it on us. will not go long into this two. the personal is not helpful and does not make them welcome."

"I've been here for a few years when it was called itys. there are many possibilities and eating is always fresh, the staff is friendly, especially fred. the coffee is a good quality and tastes premium. I think the sitting area is always clean and tidy."

"Went here after a trip to theatre, before catching train home. Server took order fairly quickly but it was all down hill from there. Ordered soft drinks, unlimited refills for two of them. After a long wait drinks arrived and the glass had more ice...than drink, one order was wrong, banana milkshake looked good but was tasteless. Waited a further 30 minutes for main meal. We all had a foot long hot dog. The roll was dry as a bone, toppings non existent, the hot dog itself was burnt on one side, tough as boots and tasteless. Fries were barely warm, as were onion rings, slaw was ok, mac cheese looked like something out of a tin. £49.95 for 3 people, complete waste of money. Will never visit again."

"Visited for a Sunday roast as adults and child and was really disappointed. I should say firstly, the waiting staff were friendly and polite although clearly very busy, the table and surroundings were very nice too but the food wasn’t up to scratch....We had roasts, the beef was over cooked and included thin slices; the pork was similarly small with a lump of paxo and burnt stick of crackling. There were plenty of veg but one plate with carrot/swede mash, red cabbage and peas was cold. They didn’t have the only desert of interest (mars brownie) and only vanilla or strawberry ice cream flavours. The apple and pear crumble was sour and came with a tiny portion of custard. I haven’t been to Skimmington Castle since the pandemic and based on today’s visit I won’t go again."
