"A perfect hidden gem for before a show, a date night, or just an excuse to dine out at an excellent BYOB. We were so excited about the food that I forgot to take pictures of everything! Three of us shared the antipasto plate and the delicious warm crusty bread served with olive oil. We all the prix fixe menu and enjoyed a fantastic and fresh Caesar salad and the light and tasty arugula and goat cheese salad as our first courses. For entrees we had a tangy chicken piccata served with veggies, a creamy penne pencil points with vodka sauce, and the most decadent gnocchi I ever had. We shared a wonderfully light and only mildly sweet cannoli cake. No complaints. Service was stellar and we chatted with the owner for quite a bit what a sweetheart. PLEASE visit this restaurant or the Bistro across the street and keep these small family restaurants in business! You won 't be disappointed!"

"Very nice Italian restaurant in an urban setting. I went there to attend a family reunion dinner. We had a reservation for 38 people. We were seated promptly, and enough servers were assigned to our party. Our service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The servers were attentive enough so that we never felt neglected, but they were not overly obtrusive. The kitchen staff must have been equally well organized because our orders were delivered in a timely way. The portions were generous but not excessive, and everyone praised the taste of their meal. I had a D'Angelo signature salad. It was excellent. They didn't have eggplant parmesan on the menu, but that's what I wanted, and they made it for me. It was outstanding. The prices were reasonable, and the decor was very nice. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that parking is very difficult in that neighborhood, I needed to park three blocks away, and most of the seating is on the second or third floor, and they don't have an elevator. If you are in the neighborhood already and you don't mind walking up one or two flights of stairs, then I highly recommend D'Angelo's."

"Yes, the service is not the regular drive-thru speed you might get at Starbucks. But really, that's not what I go to Café L'Aube for anyway. Every drink and dish is carefully crafted and the lack of haste accounts for the exquisite quality on your plate. Café L'Aube has the funky feel of Grad Hospital/South St but is usually a bit quieter. All of the employees are uber friendly (and intelligent which is a bonus compared to some coffee shops) which is one of the things that keeps me coming back... even with this crazy economy."

"Gracious hostess welcomed me. kink had immediately 12p reservation. server (berry, I don't remember their names) was very attentive eating came very timely. 1st time there, somewhat disappointed w/size of caesar salat about 3 shaves of cheese and about 4 believers. veal picatta was okay. dessert was tiramusi very good. server was best part of my visit. I will try again next year 2024 restaurant week."

"Authentic Indonesian martabak. They offer a wide variety of base and toppings from the original martabak to red velvet, nuts, chocolate, and cheese. They also accept delivery, though we have to order a minimum of 4 pans. Definitely a must try for Indonesian cuisine lover!Food: 5/5"

"Ate here before Covid when many people still avoided it due to it's stale reputation. Hope they're doing better now, but the food was very bland and uninspired for the price. The dining room was mostly empty. Unfortunately, the highlight was the bottle of wine we brought so it gets points for being a BYO."

"Great neighborhood find! Our waiter was so nice and attentive. For apps we ordered the octopus salad, vegetable ceviche, and French onion soup. All were impeccable. The entrees were great too. Great value food and a small business we hope will thrive"

"Food was absolutely amazing, but the lack of staff was a little concerning. There was a young gentleman working as hard as he can trying to attend a party of like 20 as well as other tables upstairs by himself. Also there was only 1 cook for the whole restaurant. The wait was a little long but it was worth the wait. The food was delicious and the hookah was great. Definitely will come back"
