"Sehr schönes, luftig eingerichtetes und gemütliches Kaffee mit vielen unterschiedlichen Sitzgelegenheiten. Kleine Mittagskarte mit schmackhaftem Angebot wie zB Quiche mit Gorgonzola und Birnen, dazu Salat. "I spotted this place on my favourite search engine and decided to chance a takeaway, one Saturday evening. It was my first Indian meal since arriving in Zurich, some 4 months previously, and from general internet chit-chat, I wasn't expecting much in the way of interest (at the usual Swiss inflated prices). Was I shocked to discover this gem of a restaurant surpassed most British attempts at genuinely tasty sub-Continental fare!I swung back the heavy door to be greeted by high volume conversation competing with a singer crammed into an adjacent corner. The food was laid out in another corner, buffet-style, and I was pleased to discover I could fill two generously proportioned plastic trays myself for the bargain price of CHF20. Not wishing to appear greedy, I tentatively spooned medium helpings of a deep red chicken dish (which turned out to be quite fiery) some yellow concoction (beef, I'd say), and a green Thai fish curry into the first (filling it about halfway), and took rice, tandoori chicken legs, pakora and chapatti within the other, along with some veggie trimmings.I ate for two days off this unexpected bonanza. I'm no novice to Indian cuisine and this was one of the best I've ever tasted, although it was a little over spicy for me (even the chicken legs had a kick to them). Quite the opposite of my expectation, I'll be visiting again before my tenure ends in this normally rather bland city."

"If you can get a reservation, do it! It's a popular spot for a reason :) This is an old and pretty famous Swiss German restaurant. As an American, the first thing I loved was: The Apple Juice. Really! Apparently it's common to drink Apple Juice with your meal - or maybe the people I was with were an odd Swiss and German, but who cares - but anyways I got an Apple Juice and it was much better than the stuff in the States.Honestly, don't recall what dish I got but, it was some sort of Swiss German sausage and potatoes dish. Very typical Swiss. And it was great! It's fun to see the business meeting lunches take place in here too as it's in downtown Zurich."

"Went there for with a group of people for xmas dinner. Location and shack is nice, but that's about it. Fondue, starter dessert was nothing special and portions too small...Staff a bit stressed and the bill exorbitant. All in all not a great experience and we won't return."

"We were in the mood for some Italian food so we decided to try this restaurant since it was located within a two minute walk from our hotel. It was located down a narrow side street off the beaten path and what a great surprise the food was excellent and the service was just as exemplary. We had order the ravioli magro and the scaloppina limone as well as some wine. We highly recommend having dinner at Ristorante Toscano as no one will be disappointed! It is maybe a five minute walk from the train station and is within 100 meters of the Limmat River."

"I'm going to eat in this place quite regularly. price/performance is simply top. chf 17.50 with suppe, menue salad, main course and daily smaller dessert. as a pensioner, I even get my mineral water without an extra charge. the staff is very friendly and helpful. in principle, it would be a self-service local. but as well as the in-house guests, I get the main course after the pleasure of the suppe and the salad delivered to the table. keep going, I'll come back to you again and again!"
