"Even though in Paderborn certainly does not live, there are events that we want to see in the meantime, so on today's November Saturday. So we took three women to Paderborn as we wanted to strengthen ourselves in a restaurant near the Stadthalle. We had no reservations. In one of the four restaurants nearby we would find another place. Parking is plentiful on the nearby Maspernplatz, there is also a bus stop. At 5.45 p.m. we stood in the Mühlenstraße and had to decide between Steakhouse “La Pampa”, the Italian restaurant “Pane e Vino” and the Spanish “Bodega” that I would like to have gone. But I was overjoyed, “La Pampa” was announced, especially as a look through the windows showed that the restaurant was still quite empty. The “La Pampa” is a classic steakhouse with everything he has heard and has existed in Paderborn for over 20 years. When entering the large guest room through the second entrance door, dark wood and damped light dominates the space divided by several walled arches, green plants and mirrors. We were very kindly greeted by a young receptionist and asked for a reservation that we had not, as already said. We pointed out that we have to go half of eight at the latest. With a cautious miene “Let’s see what I can do.” She questioned the reservation book that was full of entries. The result was pleasant for us, we could take a place at a table that was right next to the entrance door. But better than going back! The ambience of the rustic place with its wood-covered arcades and the Gaucho-flair affects me a bit old-baked. I can't say I feel comfortable here. Everything looks very well maintained and the rustic impression fits perfectly with a steak house, with beautiful South American decoration and calm South American music in the background, and also in the background of the great Asador. Small lampshades with burning candles stand on the window benches as well as on the clean tables, not a table runner, but large-format dessert cards as paper sets, quality cutlery, everything simple and gripping. The menus are brought immediately and you get enough time to decide for drinks and food. Sure, the focus of the offers is on the steak specialties from Argentina, steaks in all variations, grilled over coal. All supplements must be purchased from € 2,40 for frits or croquettes up to € 3,90 for herbal supplements and 3,10 for a part of rice that was not too large on the plate at the adjacent table. In this area, the prices for my feeling are quite ambitious. With the initially ordered beverages for me an alkali-free beer of 2,50, for the others a small bottle of mineral water also comes a basket with warm roasted baguette slices and a bowl with very well seasoned viscous paprika-chili oil, not too sharp, extremely tasty, a very good start. We dispensed with an appetizer, a friend had a mixed salad as a supplement that she had from the big salad buffet, in the middle of the restaurant. The salads are here of fresh quality, the selection is large, also with fresh antipasti. There really is something for every taste. 3 -4 Dressing are available, produced according to your own specification without preservatives. Our main dishes came relatively fast, we would like a longer break. We had ordered the 200 g Argentinian Hip Steak €15.50, twice with pepper cream sauce and pommes, once with herbal butter and salad. The meat quality was good, but not exceeding, cooking exactly according to order with me medium rarely with beautiful roasted flavors, the frits in a separate dish as they should be, the pepper sauce Ally, spicy, pleasantly sharp, simply delicious. Well, and while I ate the steak, I had to look at the dessert card below the plate, and it came as it had to come: Although well saturated, the vanilla ice cream invited me with hot raspberries and cream 4,50 €, a great conclusion! The service acted as a whole accommodating, personal, but not intrusive and always oriented to the guests. The overall prices are in the upper mid-field, similar to other locals of this type and seem to be quite appropriate with the exception of the prices for the Steak supplements. In summer you can sit very nicely outside."
