"We visited on a sunny Sunday lunchtime in September and were able to sit outside. A table of We were quickly brought menus, served drinks and food order taken. Menus were rather tired laminated pieces of paper but easy to read. We ordered from a combination of the lunch and main menus and the food was brought promptly and was hot.. we were all offered fresh grated Parmesan and black pepper. I did not go inside and so did not see the restaurant or whether the food was cooked by Italians. The waiting staff were definitely not Italian. Food was acceptable but not the best Italian I have had by far…and not particularly authentic. I had the penne al forno and it had not seen an oven (forno).We all enjoyed the visit and would recommend for a nice place to sit and eat in the main square of Carlisle."
