"The Toronto Star ran a positive review of Mattachioni this week, so I was eager to try it out. We two ordered a starter plate, which was adequate, but meager in size. The addition of excellent olive oil for dipping the wonderfully fresh and tasty bread was appreciated. We waited an hour for the pizza.....Napoli which is garlic, basil, mozzarella, olives, anchovies and tomato sauce. There was very little of everything!! Mostly crust, but agreeably the best crust I've ever tasted. What is this chintziness all about???!!! The overall flavour was pale other than for the anchovies, which speak for themselves. The tomato sauce was good, but there was too little of it to really enjoy the flavour. Garlic?! Did they forget to add it?This establishment has been running for two years. By now, the owner ought to have figured it out. Bread dough with whispers of toppings just don't cut it for pizza lovers. I grow basil, six varieties. It grows like a weed, and yet on this pizza there was less than the equivalent of one leaf."

"I got the butter chicken for take out and it’s literally just butter chicken there’s no rice or naan that comes with it. For $20, I expected something else. Also, they didn’t provide napkins or cutlery in the bag. However, their service when I arrived was very kind and I’m sure it’s a beautiful place to dine."

"Was looking forward to an authentic Italian dinner. Caesar salad was poor then followed by a poor cut of steak with what appeared to be mushrooms from a can! Very poor quality. Would not recommend for the money."

"Since moving into the area 12 years ago, I have been going to Vaticano on a regular basis. I could rave about so many things but the people and delicious food are the main reasons I keep going back. Felice, the owner, is always wonderful to me and all my guests that I bring with me. He makes time to talk to me no matter how busy he is. I have so many wonderful memories but most recently we had a team dinner and Damian, our chef, made our night one we won't ever forget. Thank you to the entire Vaticano Family for being always the best hosts and for keeping us fed and happy for so many years. See you next week!!"

"5 out of5, all day everyday. Service is exactly what you would expect at a 5 star restaurant. Food was excellent. We ordered a variety of items, apps, mains, desert family style. The patio is small and quaint. Definitely recommended."
