"There is another terrific restaurant on the first floor (Shogun) of this building but the Oishi is on the ground floor, almost directly underneath but accessed from Bunda Street.Oishi is a great little restaurant serving Japanese and Korean dishes. It does not look as nice as some other Japanese restaurants and the service is slow. It looks and feels like a cafe.The food eventually arrived after a long wait. Don't expect to get your dishes in the correct order and you might receive your entree at the same time or even after the main course.However.........the vegetable tempura is probably the best we have ever eaten. The individual pieces were so large that they were almost unmanageable with chopsticks, but they were so tasty.The presentation of the teriyaki chicken and bulgoggi dishes was exceptional and the taste was pure heaven. Don't order too much as the serves are generous. The miso soup was just ordinary, but you can't expect perfection in everything.We had not expected such a fine meal in a small restaurant but there was one more surprise to come; the meal was half the price we expected. This is definitely one of the best places to eat without breaking the budget.I would definitely come here for lunch, but because of its lack of authentic atmosphere, I would choose the Shogun for dinner."

"Sometimes it's out of control to think what we should have during lunch breaks. Today have a nice new attempt to eat in Korean cuisine and try the stone bowl bimbap, taste is good and fresh vege in it and free miso soup. It costs only 15.50 Aud."

"Delicious freshly cooked noodles! Fast service even during the busy lunchtime rush. Ordered a chicken laksa which was rich, sweet and had a generous amount of chicken. My friend built his own and was also not disappointed. Also tried the beef gyoza which were excellent, there was something burgery about them. The lamb bun were also tasty."

"Hidden away, but 'back to basics' Japanese. We enjoyed all our dishes, and were happy with the quality and great tasting food. Maybe a little pricey compared to some others, but the food was worth it. Definitely return."

"I have been going to ka sushi ramen regularly for two years – it is friggin amazing. my friend and I always get the same thing and it is consistently brilliant. it is the best cat/sick food, and very casual atmosphere to relax even if they are themselves. they know what they get, and it's never too expensive. the coworkers are always really nice, and we have by periods of them know our faces and only know the order in love of chicken katsu curry and m9 with udon x"

"Great food in Lonsdale! The fish is fresh and good, best sashimi I have found in Canberra (after searching for more than a year). Tried the tacoyaki (battered octopus), the wasabi marinated octopus, mixed sushi, mixed sashimi and they were all great! And do yourself a favor and try the oysters: they have a great balance between sauce/seasoning and flavor. Last time I went they had also sake in promotion which is pretty nice for a hot summer afternoon, chilled and not very sweet. However, would recommend a menu that lets know all the great flavors that you can taste in each dish! It is real and good quality food. Have and will come back again"

"Me and my partner sometimes go to uni sushi for their dine in lunches. pros and cons for this is noted belowPros> Food service is quick> Quality of the food is very good compared to other Japanese food places open in the city. Example can be the salmon in a sashimi and nigiri como, the salmon slices are huge compared to other restaurants trying to save some $$$.> Value for money on the lunch specials> great portion sizes> Bottles of water> ToiletsCons> it seems sometimes the staff find it hard to understand English as we have to repeat our orders 3 times to get the message across. When this happens we sometimes get the wrong meals.> On cold days if you are sitting at the rear of the tenancy the rear external door is very slow to close leaving everyone in the back freezing. Hopefully someone can fix this as this might prevent people from leaving as it is too cold."
