"Best friend showed us this hidden gem years ago.. great to be back and enjoying the good food!! quality is amazing!! got the super toro roll.. nice and fatty with salmon and avocado.. halloween roll.. for the slight spicy lover.. long beach roll.. for a good refreshing taste.. will try more kitchen items next time.. was smelling some seared fish in the air and defintely got my mouth watering.. "I went to this place for the second time tonight. Last time was on a Wednesday and they didn't have a lot of special fish. The chef said they will get fresh fish tomorrow. It makes sense. Usually sushi restaurants get their fresh fish on Thursday to get rest for the weekend. But tonight was actually worse. We ordered a bunch of things. The fried chicken livers were good. The fried soft shell crab appetizer was good but the fried noodles on top were very stale. The miso soup was old like from two days ago. The chirashi was terrible. The rice was stale and the yellowtail and the salmon were discolorated old. Overall, this was not an experience from a sushi place that has a Japanese sushi chef. That's probably why the place isn't that busy. Our bill was $110 and I tipped $20 because the service was good. Will probably not go here again."

"I can 't stress how great the service here has been. It enhances the already amazing food. Everyone I 've met here has been friendly, patient, and happy to help! As for food, you can expect a quality poke bowl that serves as an amazing healthy alternative to other takeout food. Seriously, it 's great! I 've never had problems ordering online and never had issues with the staff or the quality of the food. The other day, I got a call from one the staff about there being an issue with an extra ginger request since they ran out. He made sure if I still wanted the order in general or not in case that would 've been an issue. Honestly, that put a smile on my face because it 's not the only instance I got a phone call from staff here to update me on any issues with my order. These are genuinely great folks that can make one helluva poke meal!"

"This Yama location has several vegan options. The location is very clean and comfortable. Food is always fresh and delicious. We've been going here for several years and it's our favorite restaurant and they definitely have the best veggie sushi. Staff and owners are wonderful and friendly."

"This was our first time here, and they treated us like lifelong customers. I was so happy with my experience that I’m in my car right after eating to write this review. Every staff member was so friendly, not to mention the food was delicious! If you are looking for a warm, welcoming environment, this is the perfect restaurant.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant was by far the nicest and friendliest service ever.
