"Makizo is well located in the centre of Edgecliff, across the road from the train station.We popped in without a reservation at just after 7pm on a Thursday evening. Half the restaurant was full with a number of tables showing Reserved. We were given the choice of seating, and the the window table was ideal.Service was swift. Water arrived within seconds, as did the menus. We chose the Age Tofu (beautiful texture and crunchy skin), Salmon Sashimi (very fresh) and Chicken Katsu (nice portion with a great sauce).The staff were very friendly. A double thumbs up when we were ready to order. Empty plates collected promptly. Always a smile.We would thoroughly recommend Makizo. The food is excellent and so is the service. It's also great value at only $61 for 3 dishes and 2 Japanese beers between the two of us."

"I have been going to this sushi place for years. Our office is up the road. The sushi is great and extremely well priced for the Eastern Suburbs. They have lunch special which includes miso soup, salad, as well as a bowl of rice and katsu chicken for around $10. This is the amount I am willing to pay for my lunch which is fantastic. Highly recommended."
