"I was really excited to go back here as I had gone 10 years ago with my mom. I remember it was delicious. This time most of the food was good, but not great and the tempura was a little hard. maybe overmixed or the teig was too hot. I would have been happy enough if it didn't cost y4100."

"English below 横浜線の中山駅から歩いて15分程の所にある【菌カフェ】に行ってきました。 緑豊かな場所にある田舎の家屋の様な店です。 今回注文したのは『日替わりプレート』をヴィーガン対応して貰ったものです。 ご飯を含めて9種類のこだわり野菜を使った料理が楽しめ、味噌汁とご飯はおかわりが自由です。 ¥1800ですが、お腹いっぱい食べられるので機会があれば一度お試し下さい！ Kin Cafe 753 is a small cafe located inside an old Japanese-style house, about ten minutes walk from Nakayama station. If memory serves, there isn’t really a menu per se— you just order the plate lunch of the day (1800 yen and tell them your dietary preferences when ordering. We told them we were vegan, of course. We settled in for a long wait. The restaurant has a nice, rustic feel to it but also feels kind of cramped, and in classic Japanese style, we were given just a tiny cup of water to drink that we quickly finished. The background music was a 4-minute cover of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, player on endless repeat. (whhyyy?? Eventually the food arrived— an assortment of creative dishes prepared with care. Some of them were really good, others less so. One bonus is that you can have as much rice and miso soup as you want. We had been hoping to try a dessert, but none of them were vegan. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again, but it’s a solid option if you’re in the area."
