"Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Real log fire. Pub is in a convenient location with great walks nearby. Food was good although not exceptional. Would return."

"Having used the place before, we found the experience this time very disappointing. The staff weren't overly friendly, the service was slow and had to be requested, the Hunters Chicken we chose for our meal was not what we had come to expect from previous knowledge, being simply a piece of chicken and a slice of very thick bacon atop and some chips. My wife did not want chips, so asked for an alternative and still ended up with sweet potato chips, which she left on her plate. It was purely chicken and chips and therefore very expensive for that dish. On that basis, we would not go to this house again, having driven some thirty miles for our special occasion. Sorry, but very disappointing."
