"Had the prix-fixe lunch. What fabulous value at 14.90 euro each. A starter of mixed salad with garlic bread, main course of delicious steak in Madeira sauce with chips and vegetables followed by divine chocolate mousse. With a glass of red wine each and a bottle of water, 37 euros. Great service too. We will be back."

"What a Traditional Delight! We were two for dinner and had seen Dona Amelia mentioned in our hotel magazine so we gave it a try. The decor is traditional Portuguese (which is to our taste), as are the friendly waiters. My companion had a substantial, medium rare Tournedo Vitella (fillet steak) and I had Risotto De Marisco (seafood risotto). The steak was rarer than we would get in the UK, so maybe ask for one shade darker. They introduced us to Madeira's delightful, local, dry Atlantis Rose wine ... which we subsequently asked for everywhere we eat. With bread and coffees the bill came to E63 before tip which I think was very reasonable for what we had. Definitely recommended."

"Great little restaurant in a back street offering gluten free pasta well cooked and tasty. On Sunday evening they had an excellent guitar player to entertain. Great atmosphere."

"The setting was OK but the place/logo looked dated and tired. The service was funny but not great. Several mistakes made it less than pain free but the staff made it better. The food was not amazing. The Lasagne had ham in it and the pasta just didn't taste right. The pizza was good but the choice was seemingly bland if you just relied on the poorly translated menu. Starters were very good. Portion sizes were also very good and drinks list ok. Overall its was OK but I probably wouldn't go back"
