"LOVE DV8! The wines are always superb and the staff and owners knowledgeable and friendly! The atmosphere is welcoming and very enjoyable. I 'd like to respond to the reviewer who said, Didn 't think we could be adults. I 've worked in the wine industry up in Santa Ynez. It 's a fine line that has to be walked by servers. We had a couple of Sheriff deputies who came in and explained the change in law (about 10 years ago leaving those pouring, not just the establishment, liable financially if a patron inflicted harm to another after consuming alcohol poured. Our job was to sell wine and give our customers the best experience we could and at the same time step in, if need be, and deny wine if a customer seemed intoxicated. Seemed is the operative word. As far as I know there are no tasting rooms that have breathalyzers behind the counter. (Maybe they should. The responsibility lands squarely on the shoulders of servers. The best any of them can do is surmise from both behavior and what customers tell them, such as, This is our fourth, fifth, sixth stop of the day. All servers have not only the right, but the legal responsibility to cut customers off. It 's, as I mentioned, a tough line to walk. I know Katie. She bends over backwards to make each person 's experience special, informative, and enjoyable. I 've never seen her be rude...to anyone! It 's too bad that the reviewers had a bad experience at DV8. As a club member and frequent customer I can absolutely attest to the professionalism of the owners and staff, the over-the-top quality of the wines, and the great price-point of the wines! You will certainly enjoy your Deviation from the norm at DV8!"

"Service was great. Because they were low on staff, the waiter continued to reassure food was coming, and seemed apologetic. Now the problem was the food was okay. On a monday night, they seem to have limited options. I got the loaded tater tots, and it tasted nothing special. Just bacon bits, toppings, with sour cream on what tasted like previously frozen tater tots. The restaurant was dog friendly and they had more outside room in the back to sit. Menu for dogs were limited compared to what is posted here. I think it would be okay for drinking beer and watching a game but food was so limited and tasted average, so not sure i would recommend eating dinner here"
