"I had the Takara Chirashi and you can’t go wrong with their namesake. It was more elaborate than many other chirashi’s and was quite delicious. It is only the sleepier side of the Peace Plaza mall so most people might miss it."

"I am in the process of moving from San Francisco to Boston, and am visiting a friend in Findlay while making The Grand Journey. They suggested going to this place as 'it is allegedly the only place in town with decent sushi, but I am skeptical '. Due to my experiences with independent restaurants in small towns in the US, I was skeptical as well, but decided to try it out. It may be worth mentioning that I have been to Japan and have had sushi so amazing that I have almost cried while eating it, and I have only ever lived in big cities my entire life where sushi is plentiful. Japan West in Findlay, OH is on par with my favorite sushi restaurants in Tokyo, and is definitely top 3 best sushi I have had in my life. I was floored. I understand the prices are high but I definitely think this is worth it. I am staying in Findlay longer than I had originally planned now just because I want to keep eating here. Customer service was exceptional. Quality of fish was INSANE. Seriously, all I did was order basic tekka and hamachi and I was instantly transported to Flavourtown. I wish I could rate Japan West higher than 5 stars."

"Izakaya in NYC. This place is freaking awesome. It's hidden in a secret dungeon (ok, basement) with just a little sign on the street. When you get in it is small and dark, with graffiti strewn about the walls. Just sit down, pour each other sake, order some Japanese pub food, and have a blast."

"This place is fantastic highly recommended. Plenty of Japanese dishes to choose from. Any one will easily find something to eat. From something exotic such as the grilled octopus or squid. To something comforting like a teriyaki dinner. Azuma neverdisappoints. Great spot to grab small plates and some drinks. Their sake selection is superb. Highly recommend just picking outall the small plates that catch your eye. Great appetizer and beer special."
