"The Toronto Star ran a positive review of Mattachioni this week, so I was eager to try it out. We two ordered a starter plate, which was adequate, but meager in size. The addition of excellent olive oil for dipping the wonderfully fresh and tasty bread was appreciated. We waited an hour for the pizza.....Napoli which is garlic, basil, mozzarella, olives, anchovies and tomato sauce. There was very little of everything!! Mostly crust, but agreeably the best crust I've ever tasted. What is this chintziness all about???!!! The overall flavour was pale other than for the anchovies, which speak for themselves. The tomato sauce was good, but there was too little of it to really enjoy the flavour. Garlic?! Did they forget to add it?This establishment has been running for two years. By now, the owner ought to have figured it out. Bread dough with whispers of toppings just don't cut it for pizza lovers. I grow basil, six varieties. It grows like a weed, and yet on this pizza there was less than the equivalent of one leaf."

"Food was very good, with a great wine list to boot. We started with their garlic bread knots, which arrived hot and fresh. We followed this with our mains. One of us had the lobster pasta, which was extremely flavorful, well portioned, and fresh. The only issue we had was with our second main, which was ricotta stuffed chili infused pasta. It was delicious, however my partner was only given 5 pieces, which wasn't very filling. This was surprising given A) the price and B) the size of my lobster pasta. We complimented our meal with a 2022 Chardonnay from their exceptional wine selection. The service was very good, everyone was extremely polite and knowledgeable. We also were given a special gift as it was our anniversary. Overall, an amazing meal. Maybe just ask about portion size before ordering!"
