"Passing a quick stop for lunch. Warm, smiling, friendly staff, bossy with a young, efficient, quick waiter with humor. Map and menus very well, quality products, very reasonable. A pleasant terrace despite the current work on the nearby street as less traffic. Attention to peak times is better booked because close to the court, the prefecture, the departmental council among others. Good address"

"Ensemble très correct avec beaucoup de "fait maison". La mousse au chocolat était excellente. Un gros point positif sur le "fait maison".Le gros point négative, c'était le service. Très souriant et aimable mais ce qui semblait être les gérants, n'arrêtaient pas de hurler des ordres aux 2 serveurs. "Table 4 à desservir, café pour la 6, Qu'est ce que tu fais ils attendent en terrasse,etc.etc...".Le plus surprenant était le silence relatif des clients face aux cris du service. Ambiance bizarre pour celui qui s'était aperçu de ça. On chuchotait.Plus qu'agaçant, je n'y retournerai pas."

"It was already 10pm, our gas canister had run out and the campsite host had told us morosely that nothing would be open to give us either gas for our camping stove or the hope of chips. Driving around Evreux on a Sunday evening suggested...he was right, but Le Hastings came to the rescue. While the solo barman supplied the needs of a large group of drinkers he tucked us in a safe corner and supplied us from a diverse menu of steaks, salads and standard bar food. It wasn't amazing but it was solid, tasty and fairly priced, with generous portions. And we were grateful!"
