"I was quite sceptical about this place because it was empty when we came. However, it turned out to be quite nice! Whatever the waiter recommended was actually lovely: fish soup as a starter was amazing plus chocolate mousse for dessert is a must have! So creamy, rich, chocolatey, wow! The grilled fish was nice, not too much on a side though, just beans, carrots and a couple of potatoes. I think it's a cosy place to enjoy after the long day of walking around Lisbon."

"We read mixed reviews of this place but it was near our hotel so we decided to give it a go. it didn't disappoint. The interior is small and very unique- so ambiance was a given. We found the waiter very attentive and helpful the night we were here. Its tapas but big portions and the waiter quite rightly prevented us from going for 4! we had octopus, pork cheek and cod- all were excellent. Chocolate mousse dessert was just the way i like it- not too sweet. Not as cheap as some places we ate in in Lisbon- but not expensive either. We had a really enjoyable relaxing meal. We did arrive just as it was opening so we had no problem getting a table but we did notice other people had reserved so it might be an idea to do this. I would recommend this as a nice place for couples to eat."

"Foi uma experiência agradável com uma boa comida. Nada excepcional. Em vez do couvert, que vem acompanhado de cesta de pães eu sugiro uma das entradas. Vale mais a pena pois os pães e azeite deixam a desejar, exceto o pão que é levemente doce e com sabor de erva doce. O serviço da Taberna é rápido e cortez. Há normalmente fila de espera pois o lugar é pequeno. É uma taberna com cardápio rotativo. Há pratos diferentes todos os dias. Provei a feijoada de cogumelos acompanhado de arroz. Uma ótima vegana e uma porção muito generosa. A depender das entradas consumidas é possível dividir o prato com outra pessoa. Há uma foto da açorda, uma prato típico português que pedi para provar e eles enviaram uma porção. Eles foram muito genti, mas no final preferi escolher a feijoada.<br/ .<br/ .<br/ .<br/ It was a nice experience with good food. Nothing outstanding. Instead of the couvert, which comes with basket of breads I suggest one of the entrees. It is worth more because the breads and olive oil leave to be desired, except the bread that is lightly sweet and flavored with fennel. The service at the Tavern is fast and cortez. There is usually a queue because the place is small. It's a tavern with a revolving menu. There are different dishes every day. I tasted the mushroom feijoada with rice. Great vegan and a very generous portion. Depending on the inputs consumed it is possible to divide the dish with another person."

"The restaurant was very quiet with only four tables occupied so the atmosphere was a bit strange. However service was very attentive and professional. Both our starter and main course were very good and well presented. A mix of Portuguese and modern style. Portion size was large for me but probably not so if you don’t have any bread. I couldn’t eat all my main and certainly not any dessert, but we had a starter which had been light."
