"I have been meaning to try Elton Fish Bar ever since it opened. After a long 10 hour shift at work, I went out of my way to go here for some tea as there was no food in at home. I am currently regretting that idea. I asked for chips, cheese and gravy. I will keep this short and simple the chips were not fully cooked (still slightly hard in the middle), there was hardly any cheese left (not even a handful) and I wasn 't offered an alternative, it was simply 'spread out ' across the chips, and the portion wasn 't great. Rather than waste more time and go back to ask for more uncooked chips I chose to try and eat the meal... I got half way through and had to bin it. The place itself is very nice, and the fellow that works there (perhaps the owner) is polite and friendly, as are the other staff. It does seem quite busy at dinner times and people seem to enjoy it, however I would expect the chips to be the one thing that they DO get right, being a chippy and all. Based on this experience I will not be going back."

"Went in for a quick lunch, as we had dinned here before when shopping in Leigh. Brilliant fresh chips, crisp on outside soft on inside, made me think of my work days when I used to have occasion lunches at top London restaurants. Very good. Cheerful staff. Glad to see them open after this rough year."

"I've been here a few times, with friends and family, but that was the first time alone. it's always so beautiful, but I wasn't there covid the layout changed. I prefer it. there was something waiting, but not really for me, because I only needed a little table. they apologised and were very nice about it, I wasn't disturbed. the personal of beginning very friendly, asked if I had vegan and gluten-free and if I had any allergens. what, I think is great, how not everyone does place. I ordered a Decaf coffee and the buttermilk fried huhn w/slaw and fries. it was very cheap and very tasty. it was a huge piece of shining coated in a very crispy coating (instead of single pieces)Food came fast, no complaining."

"Nipped in to the bakery to grab a quick bite to eat during a shopping trip to Bury...was a little dubious to be what kind of snack can you get for that money...pleasantly surprised to say the least, sausage roll was boiling (just how...I like it) and was really nice..as was the sandwiches purchased at the same time. Well done bakery!!!"
