"Excellent made to order subs, sandwiches, breakfast and more! Love to get a hot open-faced English muffin egg and cheese on after a long night of work. Or a sub to get me through a long day. The coffee is bold and deliciouss; Always fresh and hot. I was introduced to ssd back in college. One of my teammates was local(still is) and got us hooked so every time we came to Ithaca we got SSD. Now I try to make it a regular stop."

"Tried this place out for breakfast with my little sister from BBBS. We like to try places we have never been. The wait for two wasn’t long to be seated. There was a steady flow of people waiting to get tables. Once seated we were handed menus and waited for a bit to get a server. We ordered drinks OJ /tea $3.60/$3.00) and I had to ask for water which others had. So the menu didn't have a-lot of items together. We ordered the french toast $15.60) added side egg $3.60)and sausage $6),biscuits and gravy $14.60)which included the egg but it wasn’t two biscuits as I was told initially by waiter) and cherry danish $6)to go. Placed our order about 10 mins after being seated. Waited about 20-25 for actual food. Once we had the food no one came to check back if everything was ok and did we need togo containers. I stopped an employee to ask about a container and how or where do we pay? It was a bit confusing whether a bill will come to table or do we pay at counter. Again we were new and hadn't dined there before today. I am glad the space was filled in with the restaurant to support the Dewitt mall, but $64.00 for breakfast including tax and tips, is a lot. It would have been a little better if at least one side was included with the French toast for the cost. Also the food for me was ok."

"Possibly the best breakfast sandwiches in Ithaca, I highly recommend The Danby . Every so often I will also treat myself to a fresh muffin and I never regret it. Super friendly staff, even when they have a line out the door. Cute/cozy atmosphere and perfect for my morning commute. This is where the locals go for breakfast/brunch."

"We were traveling north on Michigan 127, saw a sign advertising the restaurant. We drove to the restaurant and are extremely happy we did! The food was delicious and the waitress, Phyllis ,was friendly and efficient! We ordered the chicken pot pie with a side salad, and a chicken salad sandwich. Both servings were large, the presentation on the plates was very nice. That wasn’t the best part, the food was incredible! It was so much better than the average fast food stop. The restaurant actually has s bakery and the choices from cakes, pies, cookies and cinnamon rolls was excellent! I am so happy I was paying attention to the signs on the highway because my stomach was very happy! A special thank you to the Cooks, wait staff and management for having such incredible service and food!"
