"The Cafe was understaffed but they still let us order take out and sit indoors. The staff was very nice! Coffee was excellent, so was the croissant and chocolate cake but the macarons were too sweet and we didn't eat them. Prices were very expensive."

"I expected better quality food, since it's in what seems to be a really nice hotel (The Californian). The pastries were dry and crumbly. I thought since they made them daily that they would be super fresh. The shakshuka was the oddest one I've ever had, and it never really cooled down enough to eat. It had Indian spices but with feta. The eggs were not seen on top but buried in the hot lava sauce. I agreed to the add of avocado, but again strange with what tasted like Indian food. My husband got the chia pudding. It was just ok. He only ate half of it. Our friend got the fritatta and just had a few bites. The coffee drinks were good and the service was great. I think Santa Barbara is maybe struggling from covid and have felt they needed to reduce food quality. I'm hoping they recover quickly."

"Very open cute place. House roasted beans. Traditional coffee and espresso for the true coffee lover so don't expect any fancy flavors with the exception of the house made vanilla. Seating inside or cozy outdoor alleys feels. Loved it!"

"Pleasant Surprise! When my friend and I entered the restaurant we were greeted by the pretty hostess Amy who told us to take any seat. She promptly asked us if we coffee or something else. We both had coffee. It wasn't S$bucks but was OK (I had 3 cups) and exactly what I would expect at a breakfast restaurant. Now on to breakfast. My friend wasn't too hungry so he opted for fruit and fries. The fruit was fresh and the fries tasty. I had the pastrami omelette, onions and home fries. OMG best home fries ever. Seriously my friend and I were so happy with such a simple thing. The omelette was really good and I could cut the pastrami with a fork. ? Looking for a traditional breakfast cafe? Garrett's is it!"

"Found Cody 's on Google planning a drive from Orange County to Big Sur. From me, it was exactly as expected. Cafe foo; my Omlette with tri tip was good, but not exquisite. They were open at 7am, big win for a long drive. Several locals showed for door opening like a daily routine. Best eggs from a 10 year old. Good French toast, make sure to mention that because good French toast is hard from a 14 year old. Giant Pancakes from an 8 year old. There is outdoor seating and the inside restaurant was clean. Service was friendly, but I will note it was not busy yet."

"I love this place. The food is fresh, well-made, and delicious. Anytime I'm in the Santa Barbara area, I make sure to stop by Renaud's at least once. It has a great atmosphere with indoor seating as well as outdoor dining. I can't recommend this place enough. Well worth your time to visit."

"I came here searching for an opportunity to have a vegan brunch in Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, LA traffic held me up and I didn’t get there until after the brunch hour, and they were eager to warn me that they close in an hour—even though I had an hour left to order and eat and they weren’t at all packed. Anyway, the menu looked wonderful, but the food was surprisingly bland despite a beautiful presentation. The pulled mushroom sandwich had a subtle barbecue flavor, but it tasted as if it hadn’t been marinated and the oyster mushrooms were not tender. The fudge brownie basically tasted like cacao paste with slight sweetener in it. Actually, my favorite dish was the side salad that had shredded beats on top. It was quite flavorful and the blend of the tart shredded beets complement of the balsamic vinegar dressing very well."
