"We had lunch at this restaurant on our way down to Argentieres. Food was good, especially the cheese with mushrooms. We didn't like the plastic umbrellas loaded with commercials and the noise of helicopters flying around. It was like we were at a war zone."

"This buvette/refuge is a 45 minute walk above Le Lavancher and overlooks the Mer de Glace. The food is traditional french mountain food and there is cold draft beer which can be rare on the mountain. It is less frequented than Buvette Floria on the other side of the valley. The service is very good. I'm told there is a 6 bed dormitory if you want to stay the night. The view is spectacular looking down the valley all the way to Les Houches. It is a relatively easy walk up but steep in a few places. The path is in good condition and well sign posted. It is only open in Summer and best to book."

"We recently had a great Dinner (nice table in the upstairs room) for a very reasonable price. They serve excellent and very tender meat (which is their speciality). Perfectly cooked. The wine list includes a number of very reasonably priced local wines, the cheese is local"
