"Was here six years ago. came back for another visit. they are still good, but now given more chances to eat at other places, they seem a little step behind a few other beautiful restaurants. the suppen (consome de celia Sopa...mixteca de lentejas) are fantastic. the most important courses were good and was a step behind the suppers. the tasajo o cecina’s chorizo was super salty. the tasajo was decent, but I think I like the tasajo better at some others. also the estofado de almendra had it was quite good, but did not wear us like the maul throws at levudura. the tear that came with him was strangely tiny, we're talking about a little bite cup. I understand that the time and work is intense, but this is true here."

"Came by for breakfast today with our small group. Very nice airy relaxing environment. Good coffee, especially the Cafe de Olla. Nice selection of breads and good jam. We had a variety of regional dishes that were all very good. The tomatillo sauce on the...heaves rancheros was nice and bright. The egg taquitos with chorizo have a creamy smooth sauce. There is also a nice selection of other dishes that we would like to try on a return visit. Total bill was less than 10 USD per person. This is a place I could find myself coming back to again."

"What a treat! I’ve been to Oaxaca many times over almost 40 years. This time, it’s a month of Dental Tourism. I found a great rental up on the hill, northwest of downtown. Awesome spot, but few nearby places to eat. It just happens that...this spot happens to be almost the nearest restaurant to my apartment. (Almost). So, I went today, and I’m so happy I found it, early in my stay. Absolutely delicious! The burgers are more like sliders. I had the blue cheese, and it was fantastic. I also had one stuffed mushrooms, and because I’ve been walking around town a lot, I had the gazpacho too. Everything was great, and the rest of the menu looked nice too. Don’t miss this place, it’s great."

"Around 3 p.m. (not the lunch or dinner rush), I walked by the outdoor seating and a waiter invited me to a table. He was the best part of the experience. I ordered cream of mushroom soap, a ham and cheese torta, and a lemonade. The soap was very thin - almost like a milky broth - with no mushrooms evident. (I'd had a delicious mushroom soup the night before at Marques.) It was edible, so I finished it. The torta was okay, but not very tasty - like it was thrown together. I left half of it behind. The fries were fine. So nothing dreadful, but relative to Del Jardin just a few doors away, it was a step down. No place mats and something that looked like toilet paper (it didn't appear to be a napkin) wrapped around the utensils - just not a nice experience. Because it is a holiday and they were short staffed (there was a help wanted notice), I understand that the waiters were too busy. I finally gave up waiting for the check and paid the cashier myself. The view is good, but there are other restaurants with the same view. It as clearly a bad day for the overworked wait staff - maybe it was a bad day for the chef too, so I gave it a three. But I won't be stopping there again."

"We are written a review previously, and feel as though we must do it again... This chef is incredibly creative and uses top of the line fresh products, many of them coming from his own ranch...Chef Luis uses portobello mushrooms in such s creative way that one is left astonished...The sauces are tasty and very different from what one gets elsewhere.The final touch of a sweet chocolate drink is terrific...Very creative cuisine"

"We were here for a drink and some snacks and to this end the place did not disappoint. It is a cute but very small wine bar that also serves food. The wine is reasonably priced and every glass comes with a tiny tapa appetizer....The ambiance is cool and relaxed, service was prompt, however, the place was nearly empty when we were there."
