"We had a really nice time at La Mangeoire, which is not near Nantes but near Saumur and the Abbaye of Fontevrault. The owners are really nice and welcoming; genuine and talented people making a traditional Loire Valley cuisine served in a genuine countryside decor...with a large fireplace to enhance the atmosphere. Laure and Francis are both French but used to run a restaurant in England so they speak fluent English and they know how to make their guests comfortable. The food is made with locally sourced ingredients and is true to what the French call the Terroir. They also know very well the region and provided us with a lot of information on where to go, what to visit… We actually got far more than from the Office du Tourisme. Thank you so much Francis and Laure for the great time, the great food and your kindness. And please TripAdvisor, do not place Parnay near Nantes."
