"Always love going to the Aviary. Love the decor, the service is always lovely (although the service staff at the Bird Cage seemed a little confused with what they had on the menu) and the drinks are always good.<br>

Decided to try out some food:<br>

• fried chicken (w/ chilli, maple and sesame): fried chicken was bomb ???? (abit too sweet for my liking but I would definitely order it again)<br>
<br>
• pork and ginger gyoza (in hot and sour soup): gyoza was nice, could do with a little more filling and the soup (which was essentially tom yum soup) could do with a bit more kick ????<br>

• BBQ pork bao: loved the soft bao dough but thought they ruined the pork ???? (it was dried out from being fried)<br>

Overall the food was a bit of a hit and miss for me. The food is pricey for the portions you get but I will still always come back for the drinks!<br>"

"Was looking for a cute cafe for a breakfast date and Layup was the perfect place. The atmosphere was beaitiful, staff were very friendly and proactive and food was amazing. Highly recommend if your in the area."

"My impression of this place became positive after visiting during off peak hours. We sat in the outside area, had delicious mushroom and water chestnut spring rolls. Sipped on a Tokyo express cocktail which was amazing, kinda like an espresso martini plus coconut bits on the glass rim and coconut incorporated into the drink. Service was polite and it was great not having to wait in line to order a drink."

"My husband was at the Riverside Brewery with his colleagues . Sadly staff could not refrain from showing their disapproval of my husband's choices of food. He got rolled eyes when announced he is vegan. And we've got something special for the vegan... Table for one, down by the jetty was the joke I fail to see how this is appropriate to say to a customer.Despite all that my husband was pleased with vegan meal he was served. (Hence rating 2 instead of 1)More work must be done on trying to not make customers feel unwelcome."

"When I looked for a quick lunch today, I decided to try the famous xiao long bao (steam pork dumpling) from the shang hai restaurant in northbridge. it tastes really good, and worth money. $7 for a part of the right xiao long bao. the package was soft, but not easy to break so that the juice safely landed on my mouth! recommended only if they want a fast meal, as the restaurant is not really nice to sit long."

"Went for dinner for a friend's birthday. We were seated in the bar as we had a big table. We had the 'feed me' menu. This was a great idea for such a large table. There was a good amount of food and most dishes were very tasty. The potatoes are delicious as to was the mushrooms dish and slow cooked lamb/beef? Meat just fell off the bone and there was plenty of it for everyone. Only dish we thought was quite average was the roast chicken. It was also not cut into enough pieces for the whole table which made it a little awkward serving wise. Love the roast garlic on bread. The main downside for me is the bar area is extremely noisy when it's busy, add loud music and you have to yell to talk to the people right next to you. I was losing my voice after an hour. I have eaten here before in the restaurant area which is quieter. If you want to have a conversation without yelling suggest asking to eat in the restaurant. Overall however it was an enjoyable evening."
