"We have eaten at Le Phare Restaurant for many years. It has always been a very traditional place to eat, offering good French cooking. We have always enjoyed the food and the whole experience of visiting the Restaurant. Since Covid, the Management has changed the layout of the Restaurant and it now offers a relaxed ambience with a fusion of French and Italian cooking. Once again challenging the Barfleur eating places. The cooking is superb and the lady who has served us all these years (not happy to say we don't know her name) is still working there and continues to impress. Thank you. Lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed."

"We turned up on spec at this delightful typically French restaurant and they made us feel welcome. We sat out side under limited cover, the setting, like most of Barfleur was quaint ant very aspheric . We placed the order, and was not disappointed with the food. A very enjoyable time waiter was very good, be mindful of the weather if sitting outside as it did try and rain, which resulted in us all having to shuffle about, only added to the fun. Great spot great food."

"Haven't reviewed this place for four years, so an update is in order. Pricing and service still very good, wonderful harbourside location obviously unchanged, food competently cooked as always. (One caveat: don't touch the calamari: fishy-tasting doughnuts. Aaagh). Dish of the day was scallops; they were excellent."

"One of the two restaurants open in Barfleur that night (pity because Barfleur is a lovely place). One of the most disappointing experiences with mussels. Floury (probably overcooked), salty, dry and tasteless. A crime. These things can be so nice, and it's not difficult. Just...a bit of care. But no, the cook did not care. Stale bread and poor Muscadet. What else can I say. I would not try anything else in this restaurant, so poor were the mussels. Avoid is possible."
